I stared until they saw, until they noticed I was pinned by one of them. I panicked and pushed him off of me. I'm going crazy, I'm losing it. I kept my tight grip on my sword and kept it pointed at him. "No, don't. Don't do this to me!" I wasn't sad I was angry. Angry that this was even happening. Maybe this place; it's to safe. I've gone soft and now look at me.
"Hey," his smile dropped and he lowered his weapon. "It's okay. Amy, listen to me."
"Go away!" It's not him. it's not him! I stepped closer pushing the blade to his chest hoping he would leave, however even came here but he only knelt. He knelt in front of me and dropped his weapon, his hands up.
"Why are you here?" I asked.
"They didn't tell me anythi-"
"Don't. Don't do that. Please." It wasn't fair. I don't want this I just want it to stop.
"Just let me explain."
"You're not real." I whispered and I could see his eyes soften "I'm crazy." I cried still holding the blade to his chest.
"No. No, Amy, you're not. I swear it's all real. I'm real." He leaned closer to the blade "I promise." he whispered.
"Amy. kill him." I looked to my right and there stood Rick, he stood next to Carl and had a gun in his hand. "He's one of them, do it." he was angry too. His voice was hard and he glared at Nick.
"You see him?" I asked, my voice cracking and my hands were shaking. Was I not crazy? I stared at him and he didn't move. At this point I didn't want any of it to even be here.
"I'll explain just-" And without a words notice I fell onto my back and the sword fell onto my arm cutting it open. I smacked my head on the pavement and my ears were popped. A gun was fired and I couldn't tell who it was meant for. I blinked a few time before hearing heavily muffled screaming but it was coming from only one person. It wasn't panicked screaming, they were mad.
I let out a moan and tried to sit up but couldn't so I looked over and I thought I'd never see it. He's brutal and he's careless and he's a down right psychopath but this? Rick, straddling a body on the ground, taking a machete to their head over and over. The person was obviously already dead but he had that look on his face I know something was wrong. He knelt there still coving himself in blood as everyone watched him.
I tried sitting up again and that's when I noticed what was going on. Jessie fired the gun. I got to my feet and saw myself covered in blood and I knew this wasn't going well. I turned around to see if Nick was still here and he was but, "No, please oh. No." I fell to my knees and pulled his hood off. I didn't see a bullet wound on his head so I checked the rest of him. She missed him. She missed him by a small inch, it grazed his shoulder but I still didn't understand.
I looked over at Rick and Glenn was pulling him off the person I now realized to be Jessie. But why? Why would he waste so much time killing her for just a graze- Carl. She hit Carl. She missed and hit him. I watched as Rick fought against Daryl and Glenn and Carol and Aaron gathering around Carl. I couldn't even see Rick's face as he was dragged away he was covered in so much blood. I had Beth and Eric watch Nick as I ran over to Carl.
"What happened?" I asked leaning down.
"He's not dead. Rick acted to fast." Carol answered.
"Not fast enough." Maggie added as she picked him up and took him to the clinic. "You should go check on Rick, tell him Carl's fine." I nodded and didn't waste any time and went back home. I stepped through the broken glass door frame and they locked him in the bathroom.
"You're okay?" Glenn asked. "Yeah let me see him. Please." they looked at each other and stepped aside. I knocked on the door lightly.
"Rick. It's me, Amy. Can I come in?" I didn't hear anything so I went on "I'm okay, I went with them to the clinic and they say Carl's fine too. They said that he's gonna live." I looked back to them and Glenn had Judith in his arms sleeping. I looked back at the door when I heard a click and it open just a crack. I slipped in and he sat there with his head in his hands.
I sat across the bathroom floor and crossed my legs.
"What did I do?" he asked lifting his head. Blood covered the sink and the walls and the floor. "What am I doing here?" he stood and opened the door "You can't go." Daryl pushed him back into the room.
"My son is hurt Daryl, let me leave." he growled and Daryl let him pass.
I suddenly remembered Nick and I went back to where it all happened but they weren't there so I went to the clinic. "Oh Amy, your friend is going to be just fine." She smiled still holding a knife. I thanked her and sat next to Abraham. He shifted awkwardly in his seat trying not to take two seats. "I'm glad you're alive." He said stiffly "many people died tonight."
"Yeah."
"So whose your friend?"
"It's a very long story."
"I'm not going anywhere any time soon. Eugene's in there crying like a baby because they nicked his hand so I though I'd stay. Make sure he gets home safe." I smiled and sat back.
"Nick and I knew each other before the world went to crap and we ended up getting somewhere and things happened and I thought they killed him. I mean, I saw it, he was dead but here he is." I wanted to finish my story but Deanna walked in with a stern look on her face as usual "Where is he! Rick!" I stood ready to defend him just as about everyone else did.
"He's in with Carl right now Deanna." Maggie tried reasoning with her as she stomped her way in the room. "You will leave the moment he's healed. No questions asked or warnings I want you out."
"Chill Satan, after what just happened I'm sure you can extend the stay a little." I laughed nervously standing next to Maggie.
"You. You and your friend need to go as well."
"Hold on Deanna. Lets just wait and figure things out." Aaron stepped up.
""Figure things out"?" she took a deep breath and ripped the door open "half of our people are dead!"
"And there would have been way more if we were not here! If Rick wasn't here so I think it'd be better to thank him now and demand later." I couldn't help but to scream at her. She couldn't see reason and she definitely couldn't see what would have happen if we were never here.
"It would do you good to learn when it's your place to speak." she glared and left the building, slamming the door behind her. I jumped when Abraham slapped my shoulder. His obnoxious chuckle filled the air and I turned to him, his smiled was so big his eyes were closed and he just continued to laugh. "I like you more and more, you know that?" he wipped up his eyes and I started to smile.
"If she wants the two of us out then that's how it's gonna be." Rick stepped in and took my hand.
"Well if ya'll gonna go then I'm with ya." Abraham announced setting his gun over his shoulder.
"Good. It'll be your choice to stay or go but we leave at sunrise."
