31st October 2014
As the sun rose on the horizon on the morning of Flame's 19th birthday, the Fire Queen was sat upon the top on the Fire Castle. That day was the day that she stopped aging for good, and would never reach her 20th birthday. Forever stuck as a 19 year old.
Her hair fluttered in the gentle breeze, and the bones on her skeleton hand upon her necklace clinked softly.
In her life, she had been through so much.
She had lost her family. Witnessed their deaths first-hand. Been abused mentally and physically.
She had come back from the dead with flaming hair and blazing eyes, and taken the hand of the man who ruined her life, wearing it on a necklace as a personal reminder of what he had done and that she would avenge her family.
She had been alone in the wilderness at a young age, dealing with Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder, depression and anxiety all the while and being on the edge of starvation during the winter months.
She had met Escape Thanatos: the boy behind the fence of a slave ownership who showed her affection and taught her how to smile for the first time since her family died. In return, she had given him a bag of berries so he wouldn't be hungry, even if it meant that she would be.
She had changed her name to suit the person she had become.
She had met Phoenix, formerly known as Dominic Cole, after his mother poured gasoline all over the house and left her son and niece, Spark, to die in the basement. She watched him die saving his cousin, knowing he wouldn't be able to save himself. He promised to stay by Flame's side forever, and had been true to his promise ever since 2001.
She had gotten Magma's diary from a drunken man who threatened to rip her eyes out of her head and sell her body for money, after Phoenix had taken him down. That diary revealed vital information about Magma's plans, and told of what she did to Blaze as well as everything she had been doing in secret to the people of the Fire Kingdom.
She had met Blaze, who took her and Phoenix to a school where they trained to be assassins. Blaze was the closest thing she had ever had to a father-figure in her life, having never met her real father.
She had been bullied for her looks, and the fact that she developed faster than the other girls, therefore, making them incredibly jealous. She had been kicked. Punched. Scratched. Verbally abused. And with her declining mental health, she had attempted to jump from the top of the school roof, but was stopped by Phoenix.
She met Jaws, which caused some one-sided jealousy from Phoenix and caused Flame to confront him about it.
She had shared her first kiss with Phoenix, accidentally.
She had taken down a man who tortured children in his basement, saving Jaws' life in the process, and put the last surviving but suffering child out of her misery. Ruby.
She, at the age of twelve, challenged Magma for the crown of the Fire Kingdom, and took her down in less than ten minutes. Flame and Phoenix had been crowned Queen and King.
She had changed the Fire Kingdom for the better with the help of Phoenix.
She had fallen for Blackout, who only wanted her so that he could obtain information regarding the Fire Kingdom in order to transfer the information back down to the Under-Realm and help his people start a war. He took a knife to her eye, and left her with a scar over it. A reminder to never trust words alone.
