Nate POV
I sat at home sulking in my tub of ice cream. My stomach growls and I scowl at the empty container of disappointment. I clutch my stomach as the growls progressively get louder. I wish there was someway I could see Aryn without that whole part of her not remembering me. On top to make it worse, Ryder keeps egging me to go out and party, but he doesn't understand love yet. He hasn't even had a girlfriend yet...... Heck, I didn't even understand love. When I was with Kate I would still miss partying and drinking and having a little fun. But Aryn makes me realize that one girl can tie me down. Once Ryder gets maybe one girlfriend and loses her he'll understand. Where is Ryder...... I check my phone. He's been gone for about an hour and the diner is about 5 minutes away. I stand up and grab my keys hanging on the hook. I hardly drive my nice black car, but I feel like driving is more of a curse than a blessing. I enter the car and feel the soft cloth seats. I smell through my nose with relief. I hate that leather smell. I back out of the garage and slowly drive down the street. I park into the parking spot next to the sidewalk and a blue hummer. I hate hummers. I know I sound cranky right but don't worry, I am. I walk in and emotion pour over me like a bitch slap to the face. I choke back a sob. Damn, I way too emotional right now. This is unmanly thinking. I hear laughing and glance to glare at the "happy couple". Screw those guys. I turn and see ARYN! Shit! I look fuckin awful and the one girl who I would try to impress would happen to be here, today. Wait, I know that scruffy blonde hair. The way that guy with her....... The way he leans forward enough to get close to the girl but far enough so she is not uncomfortable. No, I'm over reacting. He would not go behind by back and stab me like that. I turn again to assure myself, but instead I just got mad. It was him. I raised from my seat slowly, deciding to calmly approach this situation. I turn and started walking to the booth. As I moved closer I saw him lean in closer to her face. She repeated the action and they were millimeters away from kissing. I felt my blood boil and heat radiate from my ears.
"RYDER!" I boomed
His head whipped around faster than a squirrel on a sugar high.
"Heyyyy." He said with a scrunched face. "Good to see you're better. " I clenched my fists turning them into a white shade.
"Traitor" I spat. I turned to leave storming toward the double doors.
"Wait Nate. " Ryder yelled behind me. I kept walking and pushed the cold glass doors outward. It was hot and the sweat on my neck made me feel sticky.
"Nate, talk to me. "
"Nothing to talk about. "
"Oh come on Nate don't fight about a silly girl. I wanted to prove to you that I'm not just your baby brother. You were always dating some hot girl and I got jealous. "
"So you flirted and almost kissed the girl I love?"
"Love? What do you know about love? Your girlfriend died and your on to another girl in a blink of an eye. "
"She not coming back! What am I supposed to do? Wait for her?" I half-heartedly laugh.
"Stop!" Screams a girl. Ryder and I both look to see a small girl with black hair.
"You guys are being silly and making a whole big scene." I scratch the back on my neck looking down at the sidewalk.
"Just please. Stay out of this. " Ryder says with no enthusiasm.
"Why are you two bitching at each other anyway. "
"It's nothing. " I blurt harsher than I meant it to be. She looked a little hurt and my eyes flashed back to the most interesting ladybug on the sidewalk again.
