I Would Give It All Up

Chapter One
Fabian tapped his pencil on the edge of his dark brown desk. His essay was due tomorrow, yet something hanging in the back of his mind was causing him the inability to concentrate on the words he was writing. He kept pressing down too hard on the paper and breaking the pencil points. Frustrated, he broke another pencil and then realized the black pencil holder on his desk was empty. Quickly, he began rummaging through drawers frantically searching for another pencil or a pencil sharpener. Then, to his dismay, under a brand new pack of pencils, the Eye of Horus locket stared up at him. He picked it up. He had told Alfie over a month ago to hide all traces of Nina where he could never find them again. And then the warm memories of Nina Martin rushed back into his head. Her green eyes, her light brown/ dark blonde hair. He could still remember her dazzling smile and her smirk. The memories flood by him in a daze and he was suddenly not concerned about the essay anymore. He began frantically searching all around his room, looking in every corner, under every drawer until he found it shoved behind his mini refrigerator. He ran his fingers across the lettering of the scrapbook, "Fabina Forever." Amber had made it for them and Nina had left it behind when she fled for the states. He began turning page by page, staring at her gorgeous features, wishing he could once again touch her hair. But then he snapped back to reality when there was a knock at the door. He shoved the scrapbook back behind the refrigerator and sat back down at his desk.
"Come in", he said.
"Knock Knock!", said his cheery girlfriend as she entered the room.
Amanda was everything Fabian could ever hope for, except for the fact that she wasn't Nina. She had big blue eyes and long blonde hair. She was absolutely stunning and had the body of a model. She smiled and then frowned looking at the distraught contents of Fabian's desk top.
"Did you get mad at the pencils?", she smirked motioning towards the broken pencils lying on the desk.
"Oh-no-I-you know...just frustrated with this essay", he replied weakly. He was always the worst at lying.
"Well maybe this will make you feel a little better", she smirked.
She pulled him to a standing up position by his collar and began to kiss him. Fabian hesitates but let the kiss continue. She pulled away and pulled up another chair to the desk.
"I already finished my essay, so I guess I'll just watch you work", she smiled.
Fabian sat back down and awkwardly began to write his paper again.
Amanda let out a small laugh.
"What?", Fabian laughed.
"Nothing...I just love that smile you get when you're concentrating", she laughed.
Fabian's face fell. He remembered the very day that Nina Martin had told him the exact same thing.
"Wha-what did you say?", he asked quietly.
She ignored his question and stood up giving him one last peck on the cheek, "I gotta run, I'm going to meet Jen and Callie for coffee, but I'll come by later, k?", she asked.
"Yeah...sure", Fabian stammered.
She giggled and left the dorm. Fabian blew out a sigh of relief. What was wrong with him? Nina was gone, he had to move on.
