AJ,
It fucking hurts so much .Another Christmas I have to spend here without you. This people act as through everything is okay when in fact everything's so wrong.
I wish you were here .You would have loved it.The lights. The mood.We would have danced the night away.. just like old times, right? And gotten wasted on stolen booze.Everything else would have been dealt with when morning came."Live while we are young. " Isn't that what you always told me ? Well, what's the point of living now?
I felt so lost . I didn't know why . I didn't even know what to do anymore . "Are you okay?" Dale's voice pulled me from my thoughts . I smiled at him and nodded. "Yeah! Of course." I was aware of the fact that he was watching me closely.
"It's just the weather... you know I don't do very well with the rain.." I tried to explain further."You know you can't lie to me little siz...It's fine if you don't want to talk about it but don't tell me that there is nothing wrong because there is. "
He pulled me into a side hug.I let out a deep breath, wrapping my hands around his waist and shutting my eyes. He smelled like hot chocolate . Some of the tension in me instantly faded."I love you so much Dale."I whispered.
I meant it. Dale and I had been so close ever since I was practically a baby.He was my big brother . More than that, he was the one person I could rely on to always be there.
Of course there was my two best friends Lima and Sally but with Dale it was different. He had always been there ever since I could remember.
He had set aside his grief and comforted me when our dad died.He took me to all of my games. Because of him, I was never bullied. Even back before I had my braces removed.
"Obviously, I mean who in their right mind could be able to resist me?"I rolled my eyes even though he could not see it.
" Okay enough PDA or the ladies are going to start getting jealous."Dale said getting up from the bench as I released my hold from him."We wouldn't want that now ,would we?"Dale asked a mischievous smile on his lips.
I chuckled and shook my head,"no of course not. What would you possibly do without the ladies?"I too joked.
"Mom sent you to check up on me didn't she?" I asked.
"Actually she sent me to call you in for dinner. It was aunt Wonda who might have mentioned in my ear....to come check up on you.So are you coming in?"
I nodded.
"Yeah... In a sec.Just tell them to start off without me." "Yeah...sure but if you are not in the next twenty minutes, am coming to get you." He said with a warm smile.I nodded.I watched until he had walked back into the house before pulling out the brown diary from my bag.I ran my gloved hand on top of it's rich cover.
In the distance I could hear the choir in the local church begin to sing Christmas Carols."What did I get myself into?"I asked myself as I looked at the diary on my hands. Nash Collins' diary.
"I wonder where you are at this very moment Nash Collins. Who you are with. What you are doing." I whispered to myself.
From his diary I knew that the previous Christmas he had spent with his grandparents in Ireland. The Christmas before that, in Germany and the one before Germany, in Spain with some family friends.
Every Christmas he was surrounded with so much people but that did not matter to him because there was only one person he wanted to share it with.Sadly, she was not there to share it with him.
He had written to her every single day. He had loved her so much. He still did. That , l was sure would never change. Ever.
I had only two plans at the moment. One, get back to Ahali Falls and two, help Nash Collins. He didn't know me but he was about to because I would help him out even if it killed me.
Attention!!!
