The nix had just stop falling as the moon slowly made it to the west. Bamboo and Tear had fear written on their faces but Mother was completing calm, for a reason unknown.
"Rosy, does that mean he could be here at any minute?" Bamboo asked my Mother.
Mother was about to answer when Velox spoke up.
"Who's Claws? And why is he coming?" Velox asked trying to get any answer from one of the adults.
Mother looked at him with now great fear that had replaced the calm.
"The sooner he learns........ that Navy's gone," Mother paused then broke down, she laid on the floor with her paws covering her head.
Tear continued for her, "The sooner Claws learns is the sooner he'll kill all of Roseis's cubs and her."
I walked over to Mother, bent down and said sharply. "What happened between you and Claws?" I regretted using that tone.
Mother looked at me and sat up again meeting my eyes.
"I guess it's time to tell," She looked all around the cave and watch all of her cubs faces. Mother continued on by taking a deep breath. "Claws is my brother." She confess. "Like me, he borne Mother Bengal's crest but his left ear had the stripe. His eyes were amber and his claws were black like coal. Claws claws were always out like he's ready for violence at every minute." Mother drew in another deep breath. "The day of my Turning was the week after Mother Bengal died and my father had told me that I had to take Mother's place as soon as I choose my Hunter." She turned her head to the front way and sighed.
Mother had always missed Navy. He vanish one day without a noticed.
Tear noticed Mother's gaze and continued on for her. The cubs all locked eyes on Tear but I continued to stare at Mother and Bamboo. "You see, Claws was always jealous because he at least wanted to be a Warrior, if he couldn't become rex but Roseis had chosen me instead. The day that Claws was exiled is when he nearly killed your Aunt Chewy, the Golden Lab?" He looked to Regina to see if he had gotten the name correctly which she nodded, as all of the cubs continued to watch Tear with wide eyes.
Mother had told us that Aunt Chewy fell, not attacked by our "uncle", I guess. I guess it was a family secret up till now.
Tear continued. "Shortly after Roseis's Turning, Claws had come onto the Island," Mel interrupted him.
"Uncle Tear,"
He's been Mother's Warrior for a long time.
Tear looked at her. "Yes, Little Cheetah?" He looked quite pleased for being interrupted.
"Mother told us tales about Reindeers, why don't they visit? Is it because of Claws?" Mel had asked Tear, who oppressively been paying attention since Catellus and Feles were talking in her ear.
"Yes but you don't know the real reason." Tear said but quickly realize that all eyes were on him, even Mother looked at him with a hint of anger in her eyes.
"I thought Reindeers had left to travel and live somewhere else?" Pola asked, who has been studying the history of the Insulam.
"Tear, maybe I should tell the rest." Bamboo told Tear in her usual sweet tone.
Tear stared at her. "But you..." He started.
"I've been studying, Flyer." Bamboo said with a laugh as Tear's beak fell open, still staring at Bamboo.
"You'll catch flies!" Laughed Pilosus and Velox.
Tear closed his beak and continued to stare at Bamboo as she walked in the middle of the circle that we made around the 3 adults.
"When Claws had come back to the Insulam, he had a new thirst inside of him. No one had know of his plan, so he got to each Protector until someone notice that Protectors have gone missing. He had killed Pan the Chimpanzee, the Protector of Cursor Savanna, Swamp the Nile Croco, the Protector of Caffer Marsh, Mother Rain (Tear's Mother) Protector of Scrofa Meadow and Lichen the Reindeer, the Protector of Tundra of Nix Tempestatis." She paused only for a moment. "Leona and a Dragon was the only reason why Claws was defeated."
Velox being curious questioned before I could even open my mouth.
"What's a Dragon?" Velox asked not caring of who answers it. Velox jumped into the air, and he would have kept on going but Mother broke into the conversation, very quickly.
"A Dragon is a powerful Shapeshifter, either have both of his parents that are Shapeshifters or marry a Royal or a InsignisKeeper. A ShapeShifter has to stay near a Wild for at least 24 hours if they have never encountered it before and only can be in a form for a week." Mother explained but then something shock the Insulam but it had came with a roar.
