I was sleeping on the cold stone floor of the first cave, it was pitch black but thankfully cats can see in the dark. I had a wonderful dream of deers, they were running toward me, so it was easy to catch them. You see since i'm nearing my Turning and too big for the Nursery, I have to sleep on the stone cold floor instead of a moss floor.
Mother, the Regina of all of Panthera Regina Island, had kept on trying to wake me ever since the sunlight had climbed the sky. The cave faces west, so I thought I could get 2 more hours of sleep.
"Rex, I said wake up! It's nearly the Gems Choosing time!" Mother yelled.
You see we call Adamas, Crystallo and Carbunculus the 'Gems' because in english or in the human tongue means Diamond, Crystal and Ruby. The 'Choosing' is when the first hunt is done by themselves, only with help of the eldest but Regina is the one of who gives first chase then pass it to the Gems.
As I open my eyes I saw yellow eyes staring at me. "I'm up." I told Mother. "What's for breakfast?"
Then my pale-green eye sister came through the front way. Her sleek Snow Leopard fur gave off a pure like glow as she walked into the cave and sat down by me.
"Did you forget again?!" Regina laughed in the most sarcastic tone ever heard besides Tear.
"Funny, did you forget to watch behind you?!" I said while Regina turned her head to looked behind her, I tackled her to the ground (which remember it's stone, not moss).
"Owe!" She said as she nipped my ear to make me stop.
See I am the stronger sibling being older and a male.
Mother just sat and stared at us, waiting for our fight to stop. When we finally noticed Mother stare we stop and sat down.
"Thank you for stopping." She said sharply. "Now go and get your sisters and leave for today's hunt." We were almost to the front way, when Mother spoke again. "Oh! Bamboo will be coming over later for supper. So no later than nightfall."
"We will!" Regina said as we met the Gems outside cleaning themselves while the Triplets rough house in the yellow-green grass.

My brothers, Pilosus and Velox were also outside but Velox was climbing a 9 foot tree with bark the color of my fur while Pilosus was sleeping in a patch of moss. After a certain point of the day, Mother kicks out all the cubs in the Nursery, so she can give milk to the three youngest cubs in peace, I may add.
A golden Lion tried to pounced on my back, I moved out of the way and Pilosus landed on the ground with a thud.
"I almost got you!" He yelled with a scowl. His eyes like the black of night stared at me.
"You need to be more quieter, you." I purred.
"I Was!!" He yelled and he ran to Velox to do the same but I seen what Velox can do, Velox leaped from the tree, landing on top of Pilosus.
They both tackled each other after that.
I shook my head with a grin.
My sisters were sitting by a tree that was 5 miles from the nearest one to the cave.The tree had been stuck by lighting a few years back during the great Tempestatis of evil. We never learn why it's called that, it's kind of a forbidden topic, for a youngling in Schooling is forbidden to learn this.
The females were sitting on a patch of Tempestatis lichen that was brown, a odd color for spring but right for winter. Adamas who's an expert on the weather, surprising for a cub to before their Choosing have even began (considering after the Choosing is the Schooling).
