Thalia groaned when she rolled out of bed to find that Annabeth was still sleeping and Percy was competing in a snoring contest with a hippopotamus, and winning. Thalia shook her head, stood, and stretched as she contemplated making breakfast to wake up the beauty and the beast or wake up both beasts to make breakfast. Thalia chose the safer of the two options and started to make waffles.
After a couple of minutes at the stove, Annabeth came stumbling into the room rubbing her eyes. "What're you making Thals?" She sat down at the table with a sigh and placed her head on top of it.
Thalia chuckled as Annabeth's silly behavior before returning to watching the waffles. "Well, if you'd come help me, we'd be making waffles." At the word 'waffles', Annabeth was up and standing next to her best friend with a large wooden spoon, so Thalia handed her a bowl to mix ingredients in. As they worked, they chatted about life, boys, and Percy.
"So, when do you think she'll wake up?" Annabeth sighed. "It all depends on when she got back home last night. I would assume that it was around one, so she'll probably be up-and-at-'em by two." Thalia groaned. "So we have to wake her up again," she whined. Annabeth smirked at Thalia. "Just make sure to say 'blue waffles', ok?" Thalia sighed and left her station next to the sink. "Ok." She trudged down the hall of the apartment to Percy's room, already hearing her snores. She sighed once more as she opened the door.
Thalia walked into the room as if it were a war zone. And it was, for if you had to wake up Percy, it was difficult to escape unscathed.
Thalia quickly checked under the covers for any swords or darts, stuck her hands under Percy's pillows to look for guns, and ducked under the bed for any loose daggers. Luckily, it seems that Percy was really tired, as she didn't have anything on her. Thalia shook Percy while saying, "Percy, blue waffles."
Quicker than Thalia expected, Percy was half-awake and murderous. Riptide was pressed against Tahila's throat and she cursed herself for forgetting Percy's favorite weapon. "Why did you make waffles?" Thalia rolled her eyes at Percy in annoyance, but held in her snark at the sight of her friend's glowing, swirling orbs of sea-green. "Because we had pancakes yesterday, and waffles are the next best thing." Thalia ignored the sword at her throat as she waited for her words to sink in. "Okay."
Next thing Thalia knew, Percy put Riptide the Pen back in her pocket and happily hopped to the kitchen, humming. Thalia just stood there for a second before she collapsed back onto Percy's water bed. She sighed and laughed softly to herself. "I need a vacation." The demigoddess stood up and brushed her clothes down and rejoined the other two girls in the kitchen. Low and behold, there was Percy chowing down on a monstrous pile of blue waffles surrounded by syrup, 'How else would I be able to fight so many monsters? I gotta keep up.' She would always say, while Annabeth had a small smile on her face as she daintily cut her's up. "Thanks Annie." Thalia smiled, as Annabeth huffed, and sat down behind her own plate of delicious blue waffles.-
"Mr. Wayne, who was the male in blue? An enemy of Joker's?"
Batman sighed as he sat back in his command chair in the Batcave. The sporadic lighting throwing shadows over most of his figure. "Just call me Bruce, Richard. I rather not hear you call me 'mister'." Robin acquiesced with a small nod of his head before Bruce continued. "I've been looking for that man for many months, because he is a possible terrorist, and now, I suspect, a mutant." Dick only flinched minutely, surprised at the idea of the hero that helped them being a bad person.
"Are you sure, Bruce? It doesn't make sense to me why he'd help us if he was a terrorist." Bruce sighed softly and turned around in his chair, laying his hard gaze on his adopted son with deep seriousness.
"There are many reasons, though the most likely motive was that Joker had been encroaching on the man's territory and it was convenient to help us to defeat him. It was only by our mistakes that The Joker escaped once again."
"How is he a terrorist then? And how do you know he's a terrorist if you don't even know his name, sir?"
Bruce sighed as he pulled up a file Dick had never seen before on his supercomputer. "This man's build and description fits the bill to a civilian who had been spotted near the locations of several recent attacks. The eruption of Mount St. Helens, the collapse of a city in Greece, earthquakes in Alaska, the destruction of the Gateway Arch, and the upheaval of several important memorials all over New York City, just to name a few."
As the Bat spoke, image after image appeared on his screen, each holding an image of a man with a slim build, green eyes, and black hair near the areas mentioned.
Thinking back on the night's events, Dick could easily see that the mysterious 'hero' was of close similarity to this supposed terrorist.
"Shouldn't we alert the League then? Send out a signal to capture this man as soon as possible? I'd have to wonder what he could want with Gotham."
Typing away at his keyboard, all Dick could see was his adopted father's back, but he could still tell the man was annoyed.
"Yes, I've already told the superheroes and sent out a message to the police. Any men holding likenesses close to these images are being tagged and investigated by an accomplished detective that, from his records, should be able to find the man with relative ease."
"I'll be on the lookout for him in my patrols then as well." Even without Bruce turning around, Dick could tell the man was slightly proud of his willingness to help find a terrorist fresh out of his training.
"Good, and Richard?"
"Yes, Bruce?"
"I hope you had a good time with that lady. Have a good night."-
I'm sorry to say this, as I know a lot of people are still reading this book (tho I have no clue why, as it is absolutely horrendous), but I will most definitely NOT be continuing this story. For a long time now I have had no interest in this idea and had to bite my tongue just to make a final 1,000 word chapter. I hope this doesn't affect anyone too much, but I do offer my apologies if I got anyone's hopes up for a good, long story. Ciao!
