Chapter 1:

All the dancers we standing in a line infront the mirror. This was the first practice of the season and we were all excited. We had had a good season and we had won Nationals with a clean sweep. Ms. Abby can in with a smile on her face. " Congratulations girls, you are the national wins but moving forward now i expect each and everyone of you to work harder. Lets get to the pyramid." She turned to the mirror and ripped the paper of the picture. "At the bottom, we have Paige. You were good in the group dance but the you misses most training sessions over the summer. I'm expecting alot more from you this year. Next we have Brooke." Abby turned to look at Brooke and shaked her head. " Brooke your a great dancer but your always missing classes and when you are here your sulking around." I turned to watch Kelly who rolled her eyes and folded her arms. I turned around as Abby revealed the next picutre. " Kendall. You did great the entire season but them you didnt come to the dance work shop cause you went on vacation." Jill opened her mouth to speak but Abby cut her off before she could. " Jill now is not the time. You want to dicsuss Kendall place on the pyramid you can see me after class. Next on the pyrmid, Nia, You've worked hard and i can see the improvement. Just keep working on those feet." I looked at Nia who was beaming with pride. " Next we have Mackenzie. You are growing and developing into a beautiful dancer. Just remember this year you will be going up against Maddie. Next on the pyrmid, Chloe. You place second at Nationals and you place first in you duet with Maddie. I'm expecting big things from you this year." I smiled when Abby said that but i was still a bit disappointed that i wasn't at the top. I was gonna make it change this year. "At the top of the pyrmid we have Maddie. Maddie you placed first in your age group, first in the duet with Chloe and had the overall high score. Just keep working hard." I looked at Maddie and Melissa who were beaming with joy and pride. I leaned over and hugged her. Maddie is one of my best friends and I was really proud of her. Abby scaned the line and then announced, " This week we will be attending in10sity dance competition in South Carolina. We'll have a group dance called move. Its a jazz song. Its upbeat and sassy. Maddie and Chloe have solos and Nia and Mackenzie have a duet. Mothers you can go up stairs and girl spread out and start stretching.

While we were stretching Abby put on our music. It sounds fun. We learn the routine for the next hour. Abby dismisses everyone but Maddie. While Maddie worked on her solo I decided to go find Paige to see if she wanted to do our homework together. Paige,Brooke and I go to the same school, The Frieda James school of Performing Arts. I found Paige sitting in the waiting area eating a chocolate bar." Hey Paigey!" Paige looked up at me and smiled; "Hey Chlo! Wat u doing?" "Just gonna do our homework. Wanna join me?" I asked while i tucked my hair behind my ear. "I would love to but we're leaving in the next 5 minutes" She said. I was sad she wasn't staying. "Awww that sucks!" I replied. We sat and gossiped about school and the dance studio. It was fun talking to Paige. "Wanna have a sleep over on Friday? We can stay and talk all night! And we can invite Maddie!" I squealed with joy. "Oh thats great!" Paige replied equally excited. Soon Maddie can to get me to learn my solo but before leaving I ordered Paige to tell Maddie about the sleep over. When i entered the room Ms. Abby told me that i was going to do a lyrical solo called Lithium. I liked this solo alot. It had alot of leaps and turns and floor work which I'm good at. By the time the hour is up I've learnt my entire solo. Ms. Abby seems pretty impressed. " Chole that was great! But I have one problem I need to see the emotion. I need you to dance with your face as well as the rest of your body. So here's your homework. You need to listen to the song as many times as you need and get your face with be as dynamic as your body." "Yes Ms. Abby. Thank you" I say as i smile a face spliting smile.
