We all know that this year will soon be over, and that it will soon be 2017. It's fascinating how time speeds by. I can't believe I'm halfway through my freshman year of high school!
I just want to reflect on this year for a minute.
There were good moments and bad moments of 2016.
An amazing moment was when I first preformed with my school's pep band. That was the second time I met my band teacher, and I felt so happy while playing the sneir drum. The drum sticks were like extensions of my arms, and it felt so natural to drum beats on the drum. It felt as if I was born to be a percussionist.
Remember when I said it was my second time meeting my band teacher? Well, the first time was when I went to a shadow day at the high school I would eventually attend. I went into my school's band room, and there was the school's orchestra in there. I met the orchestra teacher and he let me try to play the cello. I kind of sucked at it, but I liked playing it anyway.
When I was starting to walk out of the band room, my band teacher opened a door and walked out of a little room that I didn't even know was there. Then, he called a student named Omar knucklehead. I thought it was strange that a teacher would call a student that.
Anyways, that was the first time I met my band teacher. I think that was a good moment because that was the first time I met my amazing teacher. He really was amazing. He never babied me like some teachers do, and he would always call me kiddo.
I'm so sad that he left my high school yesterday.
He told the band class that he was leaving four weeks before he left. I remember crying in the bathroom the day he told us. I didn't know how I got so attached to him. Maybe it was because he always called me kiddo. Maybe it was because he didn't treat me any different than the other kids.
Maybe it was because he made my high school feel like a second home.
Frick, I'm getting really emotional while writing this.
I think I have to stop writing for now.
Ok, lovely followers,
Bye!
