Yanagami Haruka, Chapter 5

3 days have passed and now it’s the day to the festival. I woke up a bit late today. I wash my face and go downstairs for breakfast. I see Mrs. Shiori is still cooking in the kitchen and I decided to go give a hand.

Mrs. Shiori                : “Oh good morning, Aoki. Sorry, I’m still making the breakfast”

Me                               : “I can help you with that”

Mrs. Shiori                : “Oh, you can help me brew some coffee. And also warm up the milk. I’ll cook some egg rolls and some toasts”

Me                               : “Yeah sure!”

No longer after that, we finished preparing the breakfast. Mrs. Shiori calls the household for breakfast. Just like the usual days, the atmosphere is so lively.

Mrs. Shiori                : “Aoki, do you have any plans today?”

Me                               : “Yeah, I’m going to a festival with my friends”

Shiori’s husband    : “A festival? Sounds fun!”

Mrs. Shiori                : “Oh okay, have fun later then! Oh here, an extra key for the front door and gate. We’re planning to go out together today. So you can go in if we’re still out or if you wanna come home late”

Me                               : “Ah, thank you”

After we finished, I go back to my room. I open my wardrobe and look for the clothes I’m going to wear today. Oh I haven’t return Natsuki’s socks. I have to return it today. I decided to pick a yellow sand colored sweater with white shirt in the inside and maroon colored skirt, dark brown high-knee will look good I think?

The day feels so fast. It’s 3.30pm already. I should get ready now! After I bathed, I check my phone. I forgot to charge the battery! My phone battery is already a bit low, I forgot to charge it. But I think it can still be on until I go home later. Then I text Natsuki: “I’m on my way there” and she reply fast: “Sure!”

After leaving the house, I just realized I didn’t bring my scarf. I remember I put it on my bed earlier, but I’m going to be late if I go back and take it. I decided to go without a scarf. It’s pretty cold today, I only wear a sweater because I thought today was sunny enough to make the air warmer.

4.30pm, I’m arrived at Natsuki’s house. Aiji, Yuzuru, and Masaki are here already.

Natsuki                      : “Hey let’s come in first. It’s pretty cold outside. And… Aoki, you only wear that? Aren’t you cold?”

Me                               : “Well I thought it’ll be a warm enough today. But I’m okay. Anyway, here’s your socks. Thanks!”

Natsuki                      : “Oh okay then. Let’s have some tea while waiting for Kanzaki and Haru”

Yuzuru                        : “I’d love to!”

We all are following Natsuki to her house. While we are having our tea, the doorbell rings.

Aiji                               : “I’ll go get it”

Natsuki                      : “Thank you!”

Aiji comes back after getting to the door.
