(The straw that broke the camel's back.)
Jesus Christ, where is my best friend when I need her the most...
I'm ALWAYS there when she needs me. It makes me feel special when she needs me because she has so many people she could go to. On the other hand, she only needs me when either they won't talk to her, or the problem is because of them.
So great, now I feel like I've been constantly blind. Am I really being used? I've known her a long time, but does she really care about me as much as she says?
Sometimes I think she only hangs with me because I'm the only person that hasn't left her, but, there has been times she secluded herself from me... It was a struggle to stay.
I care about her I really do. She's all I have anymore. Not to mention she is breathtakingly beautiful, funny, and an overall amazing person...
Um... I mean she's a cool person.
I shake my head at all these negative thoughts that were going through my brain. How could I think about her like that? She has been here for me for years, and has talked me through some difficult times. Doesn't mean she still can't be difficult.
I send her another text,
Me: Hey, I really need to talk to you.I wait for a response, just staring at the phone.
An hour later I still get no response from her. Aggravated, I throw my phone across the room. Luckily it hits a pillow. I walked to my door. I sat down to hug my knees and begin to cry. Then I hear a little buzz.
I jump forward with excitement and feel the butterflies in my stomach. I rush to the phone, thinking she had finally answered back. I turn on the screen. Not surprised, I was wrong.
I slowly walked my way back over in front of my door so my brother can't get in and put my knees back into position to wrap my arms around them.
'Great' I think in my head, rolling my eyes. Stuck with only my thoughts, I stare at the blank wall above my bed trying not to cry of the events that have been happening. I hear yelling in the room under me, a familiar male and female voice.
I hear thumping coming up the stairs. I scoot my body back against the door as much as possible. My brother broke my lock on my door shortly after we moved here, to this hell-hole. The stomping is coming closer. I brace myself to try to protect myself from any force that I already know is going to try to come through the door.
The door budges a inch behind me. Then there is a loud outburst of banging.
"Catherine! Let me in!" My brother protests.
"Why won't you and my 'father' leave me alone!" I yelled back at Colton.
"I don't know what you're talking about, we are nice to you. You are the one that's being a emotional little girl." He yells, still pushing on the door, "Let me in! You're so fat I can't open even open the door."
I began to cry. Even though I know it's what he wants, I can't help the wave of years from coming out.
"I said go away!" I yelled at him, like he's actually listened before.
The yelling is continuously going on underneath me and the banging on my door will never end. If I yell too loud, my father will hear. The banging in my head was becoming to loud to bare any longer.
"Just go away. Quit ruining my life!" I yell not thinking about what I just said.
The conversation in the room under me just grew quiet, and the banging on my door has seized to continue for a short moment of time.
"What did you just say?" Colton challenged. I know he heard me.
"N- Nothing..." I said praying it would work.
"DAD!" Colton screamed at the top of his lungs.
I began to cry harder. 'I'm dead' I thought to myself.
A loud slam was heard. "Catherine! Come downstairs! NOW!"
Colton just snickered as I opened my door and quickly ran past him down the stairs. I continue looking down at the steps, already feeling my dad's eyes on me.
"Be gentle Charles." My mom whispers.
His head quickly snaps at her.
"Shut your fucking mouth you stupid cunt." He yells making me flinch."What did you just say to your brother?" He said sternly.
"N- Nothing D- Dad..." I answer.
"Don't you fucking dare lie to me!" He yells coming closer.
"I said quit ruining my life..." I say quietly.
"What?! I didn't hear you." He said.
"I said... Quit ruining my life..." I said with a salty tear rolling down my cheek.
"How the fuck is HE ruining your life? Huh? Little Mrs. Perfect. You're always being a absolute bitch to him! You deserve every punch he throws. So how is he ruining your life??? Answer me!" He screams in my face.
I can feel his spit on my face as he is yelling at me, his veins are popping out of his neck. I began to cry, nothing good will ever come out of this.
"He's really rude." I said quietly.
He slaps me across the face.
"RUDE!?! YOU want to talk about someone being rude!?! I'll show you fucking rude!" He says as he forcefully grabs my wrist.
Within seconds he starts tearing up the house. He grabs a tiny blanket off the futon and drags me out of the sliding glass door.
"YOU, miss perfect, can sleep outside tonight. Hope you have fun with the dog. Maybe she won't be RUDE to you." He throws me outside onto the old wooden porch.
"Catherine!" My mom screams as dad locks the front door.
"Shut up you fucking bitch! This is what she deserves." He says with a smile as he locks the sliding glass door.
With tears in my eyes, my sadness turns to anger. I have my father's short temper. I get up with a mad look and look him in the eyes.
"You'll regret this." I say to him.
"Go away dog, before I have to punish you more." He said with a evil smirk.
With that, I finally snapped. I knew exactly what was going to happen before I went downstairs. I grabbed some food I stashed and my cellphone just for this reason.
I knew my decision.
I'm going to run away.
