This is War | Chapter 6 - [Awoken With Pain]
Hannah rose herself out of bed. How long had she been out of it? Nothing came to her memory of what had happened. Glancing around, she noticed she was in the same room as before. But this time, she was able to get out of bed without falling to the ground. She was wearing her bra and panties, but she wasn’t sure where the rest of her clothes were.
She stood in front of a full length mirror and stared at her body. Bruises, cuts, and dried blood lined her body. Also, her body was swelling as she looked like a grape about to explode. Tears came to her eyes just to see herself like that. What had he done? She placed her hand on one of the cuts, but couldn’t bare it because all she did was flinch.
After a moment, Hannah walked closer the door to the room. She twisted the doorknob and pushed it open. Glancing around, she saw nothing… Except for sunshine bearing through the windows. It was night before. How many days had it been? Slowly, she took steps out of the bedroom and made her way down the hall. The stairway wasn’t far from where she was; she wasn’t going to run. She just wanted to go downstairs. But…
He stopped her.
She jumped at his touch on her body. Because she was scared and also because her body was messed up with scars. “Where you going, pretty girl?” he whispered in her ear. She gulped. “I just want to go downstairs, I’m hungry.” she replied, not lying. She was starving. He nodded his head and leaded her downstairs.
“Where… Where are my clothes?” she asked once they arrived.
“Washing.”
Hannah nodded as she rubbed her body from the instance chill of coldness she got.
“What would you like?” the man asked as he opened his fridge.
“Pizza.” She mumbled as she took a seat at the kitchen table.
Glancing around in his fridge, he noticed he did indeed have come. “You’re in luck princess.”
She shuttered at the name he called her. She only let Timothy call her that. Wait…
TIMOTHY! She had not thought once about him. He was probably worried sick about her. She prayed he was looking for her. But she didn’t have to pray… She already knew he was.
“How… how long have I been here?” she choked out, but it was hard to say. Her voice was becoming scratchy.
“Two days.” He told her. It was now Thursday. “Here’s your pizza.” He spoke as he placed a plate in front of her. It was cold as she touched it, but she didn’t care she was starving. And then she went on, stuffing it in her face. He chuckled. “Slow down baby girl.”
She glared down at her plate, knowing if he saw her he would get mad. As she did finish though, she looked up at him. “Finished?” he asked. Hannah nodded her head and he removed the plate from the table and threw it away.
“Can I get dressed now?”
He looked at her. “I’ll check on your clothes.” And with that he left the room and Hannah was alone. All she did was stare blankly around the room. It was the same as it was the other day. Sun beamed through, also. She turned her head away as he walked back in.
“Do you want to take a shower?”
Hannah looked at him, and slowly nodded her head.
“Come with me.”
**********
Hannah stood in the shower. The nice warm water rushed all down her body. It was one of the best feelings she’s ever had as long as she’s been. Why? She just liked being away from him. She placed her head under the water and let it wash the shampoo out. Running her hands through her tangled mess of hair, she closed her eyes tight. Pain did sore through her body. Only because all the cuts were newly placed on her body.
Then, a knock at the door. Hannah felt like she could have jumped out of her skin. “Sweetheart, you need to go a little faster.” He told her. Shuttering at “sweetheart” is what her body did. So, she did. She finished up fast with her shower and stepped out. The cold air hit her body as she did and a shiver went down her spine. She jumped again and grabbed the towel and tightly wrapped it around her naked body. She opened the bathroom door and there he stood.
A grin spread across his face. “Look at that pretty girl.” She couldn’t respond, it would make him her again.
“Can I have my clothes?” was what she came up with.
He nodded and handed them over to her. Closing the bathroom door, she dropped the clothes on the sink and got dressed. A knock on the door once again. She groaned. “What?” angrily. “Don’t smack an attitude with me, you need to hurry or I’ll start to think you’re escaping.” Why hadn’t she thought of that? There was a perfectly good window. Shit.
Hannah opened the door and walked out. “I’m here, happy?”
“Very.” He smirked.
She rolled her eyes. “What are…” she stopped to take a big gulp. “We doing now?” she finished up her question.
“You’ll like it.”
No she wouldn’t.
**********
Waking up in a strange bed was something Hannah hadn’t done since high school. But the time she spent with this strange man, was bringing it all back to her memory. But the question that always came to her mind was… Why was he knocking her out to rape her? Why not do it while she was watching? Did that scare him? Probably just something he’s use too.
This time, Hannah wasn’t naked or in pain. She was dressed in the clothes she put on after her shower. Her legs were closed together and she was under a blanket. Strange. He was trying something new.
“Hello?”
“I’m coming baby girl.” His voice rang from another room. He walked in a moment later.
“How was your nap?”
Nap? “We didn’t have sex?”
A confused look was on his face. “What? Sex?”
“I thought…”
“That’s not what we’ll be doing the whole time you’re here.”
She nodded.
“And to have you think I would do that.”
“But… I don’t remember going to sleep.”
“I gave you something to help you.”
He drugged her. She just nodded in agreement.
“Now, come in.” he said, motioning for her to follow him and she did. “Is it still Thursday?” she questioned. He nodded. “Thursday night, it’s about eight o’clock.” He told her. “When can I go home?” she questioned, scared out of her mind to even ask him. “Baby girl, you’ll be here for the rest of your life.” He spoke softly with a smirk on his face.
Was he speaking the truth? Would she never get to go home? She would never be able to see her friends and family again. She’d never be able to marry Timothy nor have his children. She’ll be fired. And she’ll never see the outside world again.
She was scared.
