No Ordinary Year (A Merome Story) [ON HOLD]

Chapter 15

-Ryan's POV-

I grabbed my whip and hit Mitch in the face with all the force I got.  He slowly closes his eyes and goes unconscious.  Finally.

I feel my eyes burn as I stand back up.  I walk up to the closest mirror on the wall and stare at my reflection.

I couldn't believe, let alone think, what I'm seeing.  My regular eyes have been replaced by the monster inside of me.  They glowed a golden brown, just like any werewolf's eye color.  I was scared, no frightened by the image reflecting back at me.

I rubbed my eyes furiously and looked back at the mirror.  My eyes returned back to their blue color, and I was relieved.

I turn around and head upstairs.  

As I close the basement door, I put in the code to lock it.  I head to the kitchen to grab myself a glass of water, but I soon as I reach for a glass, my dad blocks my passage.

"So, are you finally going to tell me what's going on in that basement" dad says with a smirk on his face.

"Maybe soon..... but not now." I say going around him to grab a glass.

"You realize this is my house, right?" he asks sarcastically

"Ya, but it's a secret.  I'm not ready to show it yet." I respond

I fill up my glass with water as the kitchen is filled with silence.

"Where's your brother?" he asks,  "It's been a long time since I've seen him."

My heart races as I fear for my brother's safety.

"Oh him, I haven't talked to him recently." I respond nervously.  All he does is nod his head.

I take out my phone and try to act as casual as possibly as I text my brother.  

'Don't come home anytime soon.  Stay hidden in the woods.' Is what I send him.

As I put my phone back in my pocket, a sharp pain explodes in the back of my head as my dad whacks me with a frying pan, causing me to knock out.

-Lachlan's POV-

Rob drives like a maniac heading towards Ryan's second location.  I actually thought I was going to die a few times, but somehow Rob manages to keep all of us in one piece.

We arrive at our destination as Rob furiously slams on the breaks.

"What the heck Rob!  We haven't even got in the house yet and we're hurt already" Preston yells at him.

"Well sooorrrry.  This car ain't easy to drive you know." Rob says with sass.

"We don't have time for this.  We need to get to Mitch before it's too late" Jerome says while exiting the car.

We all do the same as we march up to the front door.

"Alright, let's do the same tactic as before." I say already getting in position to launch myself at the door.

"Wait!  The lights are on." Jerome says, "What if someone's inside? They'll hear us."

"I got this" Vik says pushing us all aside.  He pulls out a bobby pin and starts picking the lock.  After 30 more second, he manages to unlock the door.

"Way to go Vik!" Rob says.

"Alright, let's go." Jerome says leading us in.

We all check every single door on the first floor in the house, trying to find the entrance to the basement.
