Dillian's P.O.V
Have you ever seen a super hero movie or read any comic books ? Well if you have you'd know that every super hero has a somewhat super weakness. Usually it's a loved one or maybe some type of kryptonite. It's as if being a super hero made you more vulnerable than resistant in my opinion.
What's my weakness? My weakness was just about everyone's weakness, losing my mom and brother. After my dad leaving when I was so young my tiny family became more reliant on each other. It was as if when my dad left a force field pulled us together. Now, my mom taught us to be careful who you let in your protection.
When I got my powers my mom was always my biggest supporter, she knew that I had always looked up and admired super heroes and heroins. She even tried to encourage me to keep practicing when my dad left but, I always thought my powers were more of a curse than a blessing and I never wanted to put them in any danger.
Even, a super as good as Cronus Day had to have something or someone he was protecting but, that adds weakness that they all pretended not have.
Last night I had made the decision to myself to accept Arc Vulcan's offer but, to keep in my mind that I had to be cautious. I was still hazey on his motives and I had a feeling setting a building on fire was just the beginning of whatever chaos was about to occur.
As, I made my way to the library to start my shift I noticed a crowd of people in front of the half burnt office. I looked down at my watch deciding I had enough time to scope it out.
"Cronus Day , What do you believe the motive behind this attack was?", I heard a reporter ask as I made my way towards the front of the crowd. I looked up to see the famous super.
It was hard not to see what everyone liked about him. He looked young even under his mask. His silver and navy blue suit was tight outlining and defining his muscles. His mask the same color didn't cover his entire face so you could see his confident smile and strong jawline, he was attractive even in disguise.
"Well obviously someone is trying to cause hysteria within our city.", he answered scoffing as if it was the most obvious answer. That was one of the main problems I had with Supers they always felt the need to belittle people.
"Over here!", a lady said throwing up her hand ,"Where were you the night of the attack?". I myself had wondered the exact same thing.
His jaw ticked and even through the mask you can tell his eyebrows furrowed before his confident smile came back ,"I was handling other crimes within our city but, I can assure you this will be the last time I let some wanna be villain hurt our city.". People began cheering excitedly yelling praises.
I raised my hand not even thinking. He looked confused but, nodded in my direction.
"What's more important than trying to stop a villain who was putting the lives of some of our cities best workers at stake?", I said before wondering why I even asked anything in the first place. I, somewhat think at the time I wanted to defended Arc in a way, after all he saved my life.
Cronus Day's eyes locked with mine as he stared at me looking a bit taken back. I would bet that was the first time he had been publicly been called on his bullshit typical Super response of ,
I promise next time blah blah blah.
"The fire wasn't the first thing on my mind, I was in the middle of taking care of some bad people.", he said easily but, I could tell there was a hint of nervousness in his voice.
