Giant worm creatures shot up from the ground not far away from the armies. Their roars shook the earth as they shot out of the ground.

"Oh, come on," I heard Dain say.

I could see the concern on people's faces. Including my father's, which surprised me a little since he was normally so composed. The were-worms shrunk back into the ground. I froze in place when I heard a familiar voice.

"Come foravh mausan armieuk (Come forth my armies)!"

I looked up towards Ravenhill and saw Azog standing there as a horn rang out. Several other orcs were with him and were working a large contraption. The contraption moved, raising four large wings. My attention was drawn back to the hole the were-worms had created. Thousands of orcs were running out of the tunnels.

"The hordes of hell are upon us!" Dain shouted to his men, who were running frantically to the front of everything to stop the orcs. "Fight to the death! To battle! To battle, sons of Durin!"

I watched for a moment as Dain and his army ran forward. I glanced at my father and saw him sitting still on his elk. I glared at him, then turned back to look at the dwarvish army. Puting my bow on my back and pulling out my swords, I started to follow them. A hand suddenly grabbed my arm, stopping me. I turned to look at Faron.

"You cannot go!" he said. "You will be killed!"

"Then so be it!" I said back. "I said I would protect the company, and that is what I plan to do." I glanced at my father. "If he won't do anything about this, I will."

I ripped my arm from his grip and ran to catch up with the dwarves. As I drew closer, the dwarves stopped and began to put up their shield, spears ready. I tightened my grip on my swords. I tried to block out the noises around me, though I heard the clanking on metal behind me.

As the orcs were about to crash upon the dwarves shield, I jumped over them, meeting the orcs head on. I quickly killed four orcs in front of me before I quickly glanced around. I stared for a moment. A section of the elven army had followed after me and was jumping over the dwarves to fight the orcs. I smirked as I fought, killing any orcs that came close enough to my blades.

After a few moments, the dwarves stood and charged at the orcs, killing them with their spears. I caught sight of Dain riding through the fight on his pig, smashing orcs with his large metal hammer. Behind the dwarves, I could see the rest of the elven army marching forward to join the battle.

Azog's horn sounded again, making me look up. His contraption now held another position. I heard a roar behind me. Looking over my shoulder, I could see more orcs, along with huge trolls. I looked at the rest of the elves who had not yet joined the fight. They were pulling out arrows and fired them at the new threat, taking down at least two trolls and dozens of orcs.

The horn sounded again and I saw the trolls rushing at Dain's men, who rode on metal chariots and were shooting at the orcs. Two trolls quickly knocked one over, throwing multiple dwarves to the ground.

I growled in annoyance when Azog's horn sounded once more. I gasped when I saw part of Azog's army turn and head towards Dale. Several more trolls emerged from the tunnels, carrying catapults on their back.

An orc charging at me quickly caught my attention. I ducked to avoid its sword. Acting quickly, I sliced its back then stood up and stabbed it, killing it quickly. I suddenly heard a shriek from behind me. I spun around and raised my sword, only to see my father's elk not from me and an orc lying on the ground, dead.

"Thranduil!" I shouted. He either didn't hear me or ignored me. I rolled my eyes and killed another orc. "Adar!"

He looked his shoulder and spotted me. We stared at each other for a moment before we continued killing orcs, though he slowly made his way towards me.
