Nearly two months have passed since the Battle. I had heard the people of Dale referring to it as the Battle of the Five Armies. The elves had gone back to Mirkwood not long ago. They had been helping to rebuild Dale and Erebor, which was greatly appreciated by the people of both places.

We received word not long after the Battle that dwarves from the Blue Mountains and other small towns were journeying to Erebor. Dain and his men returned to the Iron Hills to tell the dwarves who had come from Erebor years ago that it was safe to return to their former home. Fili and Kili had gotten a letter from their mother to tell them she was alright and on her way with the other dwarves.

Fili had asked me be one of his advisors. I had accepted his offer, hoping my opinions could help Erebor. Besides, I had promised Thorin I would watch over his nephews.

During the times where we were not working, I trained with the company and Tauriel. Tauriel and I taught the dwarves a few elven moves that they could possibly use in the future. I helped the dwarves improve on their defense skills as well as their offense. When Tauriel and I dueled, our fights sometimes lasted over an hour. We would also have shooting contests to see who could shoot faster, but it always close.

I currently sat in one of the studies, working with Balin. He was teaching me Khuzdul so I could communicate with the other dwarves on occasions. I glanced up from my work and looked out the window. I stared.

"Balin," I said.

"Yes, Aeareth?" he replied, looking at me.

"Look outside."

We stared out the window. There was a line of figures making their way towards the mountain. Looking closely, I saw it was a large group of dwarves. Balin and I laughed when we heard Bofur running around the halls, shouting to the others.

"Quick!" he shouted. "Everyone! To the gate! The dwarves from the Blue Mountains are here! They aren't far off!"

I could hear the dwarves scrambling into the hallway and making their way towards the gate. I turned to Balin.

"Shall we join the others?" I asked him.

He nodded. We stood up and hurried to the hallway where we followed after the other dwarves. We gathered at the gate, waiting for the Blue Mountain dwarves to arrive. I smiled at Fili and Kili, who wore bright smiles on their faces. Fili wasn't wearing his crown, but he was probably in too much of a rush to get here to put it on.

"Excited are we?" I asked them quietly.

"Of course!" Kili said. "We haven't seen our mother in almost two years now. It will be good to see her again."

"I'm sure it will be."

I adjusted the skirt of my maroon dress. My father had had most of my wardrobe delivered to the mountain since I did not have many extra clothes from the quest.
