" Good Evening dear students! To our new students, welcome, to our old students, welcome back!" Headmistress Mcgonagall starts her speech at the podium.
Behind her is the long dining table for dear professors and staffs.
I saw my dad smiling broadly as he continued on listening to Mcgonagall's speech.
I've heard her speech since I've enrolled here and somehow it's the same every year.
I felt a tap on the shoulder and I turned to look. It was Lily Luna Potter also known as my best friend." I'm quite bored so I'm just gonna tell you what I did during the break." She continued on her story in whispers.
I didn't complain as it is true. I mean if you listen to this speech for 4 years straight, it's like a pledge to be honest.
As Lily was telling me her story, I wasn't in my right mind as my eyes were wandering quite far. Suddenly my eyes landed on Albus Potter. Yeap, the famous Albus Severus Potter.
The Potter's are pretty much the royals here at Hogwarts. I mean the father is a well-known Auror or might I just say The Harry Potter, where as the mother is the Daily Prophet Editor for sports. Quite the fame they have.
Here's a secret. I've had a crush on Albus since my first-year. And I will proudly say that I still do. Although I'm best friends with his sister, it doesn't really give me an advantage as Lily and Albus doesn't have that brother-sister bond that every siblings ought to have.
So basically, I'm saying that Albus never noticed me. I mean yeah sure we saw each other during sleepovers and during the family days but how the reality hits you still amazes me really. He was listening intently to Mcgonagall. His bright green eyes really attract whoever landed their eyes on them. As if I'm hypnotised, I didn't realize I was slowly leaning my back towards Lily.
"Ferra! Watch it!" Lily shouted at me. "Sorry Lil. I was thinking. About stuff." I gave her a weak smile. I looked around and apparently everyone has already started munching on the feast. " Oh, as if I don't know you any better. You were checking out on Albus again weren't you?" She smirked as she pointed her finger to me.
"Oh god, Lil! You know I can't date anyone. If all I'm allowed to do is 'checking out' on people, then that's what I'll do," as I rolled my eyes and took a sip from my pumpkin juice.
"Don't be such a party pooper, Fer." Lily chuckled whilst eating her baked potato. " You know, I heard Albus got a special someone in his mind for the upcoming ball." Lily sure knows how to grab my attention.
"Oh yeah?" I tried to pretended like I don't care but only God knows how hard it was.
"Don't you 'oh yeah' me! I know you're dying to go to the ball with him." She chuckled as she nudged me on the shoulder.
"What about you? Do you have someone in mind?" Me trying to change the topics because I just realised how red my face became just hearing about it.
"Nice try, Fer. But might as well. Help me choose a date!! Hmm, Zabini seems like a good one... " and she went over her list of eligible 'dates' for the ball.
I was once again hypnotised when I looked up from my place to admire Albus once again when I saw a pair of grey eyes were staring at me. I never felt this shiver in my bones but it sure is something.
"Oh, Finnegan seems good too! Oh-" I cut Lily off who is still going on about her candidates. "Lily! Let's go back to our dorm, yeah?" I gave her a wide smile as I stood up.
"But before that, what's up with that smile?" Lily looked at me giving a curious smile. She finished up her juice and stood up next to me.
"Oh, nothing. I'm just excited for school, I guess." Still smiling broadly. "No wonder Uncle Ron called you Hermione the second" Lily laughed as she put her arms around me. I didn't respond to that. Instead, I kept on smiling and walked back to the dorm with Lily as she continued back talking about the Yule Ball.
"Hey, Lily? Sorry to interrupt but whose the guy that always hangs out with Albus?" Lily looked at me a bit shocked but answered my question. "Umm, I think it's the Malfoy boy. What's his name again?" Lily thought hard. "Oh! It's Scorpius Malfoy! Yeah, Scorpius." I gave her a thankful smile and said "Haha, Lily. That wasn't necessary but thanks. "
"Oh yeah, sure. You are very welcome. Now as I was saying, the dress has got to be red. And.. " we continued our journey back to our dorm as I wandered deeper into my thoughts.
Scorpius Malfoy, huh? As the daughter of a well-respected professor, I know a thing or two about students here at Hogwarts.
He's got those grey eyes that sends shivers straight to my bones. How could I not remember him? He must have been one of those students who keeps things to himself.
I smiled as I replayed the gaze that was on Scorpius' face back at the Great Hall in my mind. Cute. I thought. And smiled like an idiot once again.
