Angel's Lament
Darkness fell upon locked gates,
Falling slowly, lying in wait
Searching for souls to claim as its own
It lies in the shadows of its home
The people, they're scared
of darkness and more
they fear what's in it,
fear what is in store
They can't help but cry then
at their own demise
the only saviour they knew
was cast aside
He watched from his haven,
from his own little place
where his wings were bound,
with no further grace
The angel watched in horror and grief,
as the sorrows of pains that never were said
made their way up to his own little reach
Crying was wanted yet no tears came
The angel watched in silence
never to help again
The darkness has taken everything he held dear
now all that is left is a sinking fear
without people to save, to help, to free
'What would happen to poor, old me?'
At last a tear, warm as it fell
made its way down his face
and into a cave of dying grace
forever to catch, forever to rise
Until the angel would drown,
in his tear ridden eyes.
