Andrew didn't ask me out on a date, but he did ask me to be his girlfriend. It made me incredibly happy in a very childish way, and was really the only memorable event of that week besides Heath.
We started learning hand-to-hand combat in Nathan's class, and we moved onto learning how to say big words and how to write in French. I was excelling in both classes so far, and I was pretty darn proud of myself.
There also hadn't been any group changes yet, which was good.
Today we were sitting at our lunch table eating. Alice, Indigo and I had picked up a few friends. Friends being Andrew, Jordan, and Max.
Alice and Jordan were officially a couple, but they didn't tell us they were a couple until a few weeks after they had gotten together. Indigo was a lone wolf, as she liked to say, but I still wondered why. I had suspicions she was playing for the other team...
I looked at my group of friends. Jordan was helping Alice pull french-fries out of her hair as Indigo was throwing them at various people around the table while somehow maintaining coherent conversation with Andrew and I. Andrew had his arm around me, Max belched, looking like he did something mischievous, but wasn't ashamed of it.
We all stopped what we were doing when Markus walked up to our group. "Hey guys," He said
There was a chorus of "What's up's" and "Hey man's" from over the table.
"So, a second generation told us there was an amusement park in town and we verified. Everyone was wondering if you guys wanted to join us this weekend. Make it like a third-generation field trip."
HAHAHA. No. I was not one for small crowds of people I didn't know, much less large ones.
"Dude, that'd be awesomely fun." Indigo slurred her words through a red slushy. It took skill to be able to speak with food in your mouth and not get it everywhere, much less a fricking slushy. I was too impressed to tell her to use her manners.
"Oh my gosh, it would." Alice chimed in. "I haven't been to an amusement park in a while." Jordan nodded eagerly next to her. He wasn't much for speaking, but when he did speak, he had a lot to say.
Andrew looked over at me. The way we were positioned caused him to have to look down at me. "Wanna go?"
I nodded trying to look eager. I wasn't going to go, but I didn't want to seem like a buzz kill to my friends. I'd fake feeling bad later. I made me feel guilty, but oh well.
"We're in, man," Andrew said.
"Me too," Max added. He still looked like he did something suspicious.
I decided I didn't care at the moment.
Markus left and Indigo chirped "This should be fun!" It was weird to hear Indigo chirp, but it didn't seem unusual.
Alice nodded and took a bite in her burger, then made a face. "Ketchup." She said, announcing the problem "I'll be back."
We all nodded, and Alice left, but I was pretty sure I was the only one who noticed Max slipping something onto the seat where Alice sat.
I stared at him with a disappointed look letting him know I saw him do that, and the I discouraged it, but I made no attempt to stop her from sitting on it when she came back.
She came back cheerfully with at least three little paper cups of ketchup. She plopped down on the blue and red seat and...
... and let one rip.
I didn't think a girl her size could produce a fart that big, but still, her face went red, the tables around us silenced and everyone looked at her with various levels of disgust, shock and awe.
