It was about an hour and a half after everyone had gotten back from their job interview things. Almost everyone had gotten the job they choose, so, as a celebration of the unemployed freedom most of them had just lost, the third-generation went to dinner or to the new Dave N' Busters in town.
Alice, I had all gotten invited to go with of course, but Alice had plans with Jordan. It surprised me a little that Indigo went, but I wasn't her keeper, so whatever. I stayed to call my mom and pack.
When I picked up my phone; I had five missed calls and countless text messages. I ignored those and just called the home phone, knowing that they'd probably just repeat anything they said in the voicemail when I talked to them. My brother ended up picking up the phone. It was a relief to hear his voice.
When I told him I'd be visiting he was ecstatic. When I told mom, she started crying tears of joy. My dad wasn't home when I called, but I was assured that the message would be passed on. They were even excited that I was bringing a friend. I couldn't wait.
After my phone call, I started packing my bags. It didn't take me long since most of my clothes were still at home. I just needed my toiletries and some underwear.
I sat on my bed, upset that everyone was busy or out. On a usual night, I wouldn't be complaining, but today I was excited and wanted to hang out with a human being instead of a book.
I flopped down on my bed letting out a sigh. Who's still here right now?
Well, Season was. I considered going over to her room, but she was power packing. Even though Season was smart, nerdy and anti-social, she enjoyed clothes and shoes, so it would take forever.
Andrew was here too. Apparently, he built a website and needed to update it. I would love to go see him, but I was afraid that I was getting too clingy and attached. I always devote myself in a relationship, and sometimes that devotion makes me look clingy and desperate.
Max was here also, but he wasn't allowed out tonight because he tried to start a food fight. As punishment, he was in the gym facing Nathans wrath.
That thought made me giggle. I could just see Nathan yelling "You gotta get yer wee arse in shape, lad!" At Max as he frantically ran on a treadmill.
I sat up and looked at the bookshelf that was a part of the desk. I wanted to watch a movie. I had several here, but no way of watching them. My laptop didn't have a DVD player.
Well, Andrew has several TVs in his room. I bet he has a DVD player too. A little voice in my head told me.
Couldn't argue with that logic.
I picked up a couple of movies, set them on my desk, then went to my dresser to put a bra on. Sure, I'd leave my room without shoes. I've done it quite often. I would never leave my room without a bra.
Trying not to drop my DVD's, I successfully opened and shut my door, then made it to Andrews and knocked.
"Hold on a moment."
"M-kay," I replied.
Seconds later, the door opened. "Hi." It was Andrew. "You've got movies."
I smiled. "And no DVD player."
He smiled "Then you've come to the right place." He stepped back and opened the door wider, inviting me in. "The bed to the far left is mine. Have a seat. I need to use the bathroom."
As he made his way to the bathroom, and I made mine to his bed, I noticed that the room was a bit dirtier than last time. Someone's tighty-whities on the floor, and there were a few new posters.
