*Flashback*

"I'm not sure if I believe mom. I mean , there are people who look like each other, but-" I was cut off of my train of thoughts when my mom called. "JAMIE! DINNER!"

"COMING!" I yelled back. Maybe my parents have a good explanation for this. What if I ask dad? He has always been fair to me.

"Jamie, what's wrong?" My mom asked me.

"Huh? What are you talking about? I'm fine." I rambled on while inspecting my surroundings. Huh, I guess I walked to the dinner table without realizing it.

"Oh, well you didn't answer me when I asked you if you have any plans for the weekend."

"Oh, well not right now, no." I answered simply.

"Where's Dad?" I asked when it was my turn to ask questions.

"Still at work. He called saying he would be home late." She answered.

Meet Robert and Margret Jilles AKA my mom and dad.

"Ugh mom do I have to eat this?" I asked my mom with a groan.

"Yes! Now eat it." My mom ordered. Yes, you're right. This red shirt doesn't look good on me. Oh, and you're right about the avocado. I hate them. They have a weird slimy taste. In my opinion at least.

~*~*~*~

After dinner - which was horrible- I went up to my room with the newspaper. I went to some sites and looked up information about the younger Zoë- I mean me. "This shouldn't be too hard, right?" I whispered to myself.

Turns out it is harder than I thought.

*Monday at school*

"AMY! WAIT UP!" I hear behind me. I turn around to come face to face with Brianne.

"Ew. Move freak!" She said pushing past me. I know what you're thinking. This hairstyle looks pretty good on me, if I say so myself. Then Brianne turned around to face me again.

"Just kidding! Hey Jamie! Did you find something for history yet? I did. OH! Do you wanna know what it's about? Do ya? Do ya?" She rambled on. Yes. This hyper girl over here was my best friend. How I met her? We were both bullied in freshman year. Yeah, that wasn't fun. And yes, that sounds so cliché. But it's true. "Sure, what did you find?" I asked her satisfying and laughing at her. We were heading towards history. "About a little girl who was kidnapped and never heard from again." She said a little sad now. "Hey me too!" I told her. "Let's ask Mr. Sparks if we can do it together?" I asked her.

"Ask me what?" Mr. sparks asked. Looks like we arrived at our destination. . .

"If we could do our project together?" Bri asked him. "Yeah, of course. Did I forget to mention you could do it with a partner?" He asked us.

"You kinda did Mr. Sparks. . ." I answered.

"Oh. . . Class! Listen up! . . ." He started telling the rest of the class what he told us while I just zoned out. This was my favourite subject. Not just because I was good at, but also because the teacher was fun. He made jokes and told stories and he wouldn't get mad fast.

After school I went straight home. No, not because there is food there - although I would love to stuff my face with food right now- it was to resume my investigation. Mr. Sparks agreed that Bri and I could do this subject. "Hey Jamie. How was school?" My mum asked me as I walked into the kitchen.

"Good. What time are you going to work?" I asked. She had a job as a hostess at a restaurant. Only for dinner though.

"In 2 hours." She told me. I took an apple from the fruitbowl and went up to my room. "Let's do this. I said cracking my knuckles.

*The next day*

Jamie! Get up! You have to go to school!" My mum called from down the stairs. Little did she know that I was up all night looking up anything that could help me figure this whole kidnapping thing out.

"Coming!" I shouted back. I ran to my bathroom and took out my toothbrush, put some toothpaste on it and jumped into the shower. Ah, who doesn't love the power of multitasking? You get things done faster, right?
