*Present day*
"UGH!" I exclaimed in exhaustion. "Why is this so hard?!" I yelled. People were giving me weird looks, but I didn't care. I just want to find my parents. . .
"Are you okay, dear?" Someone tapped on my shoulder. I turned around to answer the lady honestly.
"Yeah, I'm just a little frustrated I guess." I answered.
"Care to tell me?" The woman asked me. She had a warming smile on her face and -not like all these woman here- she didn't have a face full of make-up. Nor was she wearing a pencil skirt like I saw 5 woman wearing 2 minutes ago.
"I'm looking for Carnaby Street number 18, but I can't find it. Could you please show me the way?" I asked her.
"Yes of course. Keep walking straight on till you get to a traffic sign that says that they're fixing the street. Then you take a left at that sign and then you take the second road on your left. Then you're in the street you're supposed to be." She said with a bright smile.
"Thank you so so so much! You're a life saver! Thank you, again."
"Don't mention it. I'm always glad to help."
"Bye!"
"Bye! If you get lost again, just ask for directions. I'm sure there will be someone there to help you."
"I will. Again, thank you." After that I started my run to Carnaby Street.

"Carnaby Street number 1...number 2... 4... 6...8...11... 16...18. This is it." I sighed. "I can do this. Nothing's impossible.." I put my finger on the doorbell not pressing it yet.
I sighed again. When I gathered enough courage to press it, the door opened. "Hello there. How can I help you?" A lady asked me.
"Um, yes hi. Is this the house of Mr. Jilles?" I asked.
"Yes it is, but he's not home now. Can I do something for you? I am his wife." She asked me sweetly.
"Can I come inside?" I asked her. "It's a little cold out here."
"Yes of course! This way." She led me through a hall with pictured of her family. Most of them were kids and the others were all of them or of her and her husband. It looked like she has 3 kids. 4 with me included...
"Would you like something to drink?" She asked me.
"No, thank you."
"Um, this may be a weird question coming from a total stranger, but.." I stayed silent for a moment. I didn't really know how to tell her this. I haven't thought this through, have I?
"You can tell me. I'm sure it's not that bad or weird. And I won't throw you out. You look like you came from far away" She told me.
"I did come from far away. But if you did throw me out, I wouldn't be surprised."
"I promise I won't." I nodded after she said that.
I took a deep breath before I started talking. "Miss Jilles...Did you have a daughter that went missing when she was about 2 or 3 years old?"
She looked at me like I was crazy. "How did you know about that? You're not that stalker again, are you? Cause if you are, I AM going to throw you out.
"No no no," I said waving my hands at her. "I'm definitely not a stalker! But I will go if you want me to. Really, I don't want to be a bother." I said really fast.
"No, its okay. You can stay. It was just weird that you asked me that. I mean, it was 13 years ago everybody moved on. Even my husband." She started to get tears in her eyes, and I wanted to comfort her, but I knew I shouldn't. And I didn't.
"Not even the police look for her anymore. An that story that was in the newspaper, that was a lie. Every part of it. Zoë wasn't walking around all alone. She was next to me holding my hand. Then 1 second after that, she got snatched out of my grip. I ran after the man who had her, but he disappeared after a while. I never saw her again."
Its was quiet after that. "I was here to ask you things about Zoë, but now I'm regretting coming here." Mostly because now that she told me this, I remember bits and pieces of it. I remember that I was pulled away from my mom. And that I was held in some kind of basement. Nothing more.
"Why? Why would you want to ask questions about something that happened 13 years ago? Why now?" She whispered.
"We had to search information about things at happened 13 years ago for school. And when I saw this, I wanted to know more about it."
"Well there isn't much to say about it, but ask away."
"I looked in her eyes looking for any sign that she didn't want me to ask questions. But I didn't see anything.
"Um okay. Did you receive a letter saying they wanted money for m- Zoë?" I asked her.
"No, we never did. We waited weeks for it honestly. But it never came."
