Idea: Based vaguely off the image above from various tumblrs.

Plot: You are with your crush and best friend, the archangel Gabriel, and decide to take trips to haunted houses. This one is not like the others.

Warnings: mentions of weight issues.

"Do you think this one will be any different? All the others have been boring so far," you complained.

You and Gabriel were sitting at a coffee shop, two blocks away from one of the last stops on his list. He thought that it would be a "fun" way to spend your spring break of your senior years of college. However, almost all of the haunted house you had been to were not worth the admissions' price. There were no real ghosts, just fake animations. Gabriel was your best friend, so you went along with his silly shenanigans.

"Trust me, this one will be the best yet." He flashed you a grin and leaned back in the wooden chair. You crossed your arms with an unsure smirk that hid a true smile. Gabe has been your best friend for about five years now and your forever crush. Of course, you had never acted upon that. Not only was he a few years older, but he just seemed so far out of your league. He worked for the government, he claimed, which was why he has to occasionally leave for a week or two every couple months. You had a suspicion that he planned to leave for a longer time next month, which was why he was spending so much time with you.

Suddenly, he leaned forwards with elbows covered in a dark blue button-down propped on the table, hands intertwined. His sideburns were growing longer, though he recently shaved. His green eyes shine under messy dark blond hair. "Y/N; sugar, are you alright?"

"Yeah, of course. The coffee tastes funny, that's all," you said, faking a smile once again. You were used to his nicknames, but did adore them. You worried that one of the next times you would see him could be the last.

You could tell Gabe didn't believe you, but the two of you carried on with your day, and then the one after that, until you were finally standing outside of a huge and ancient building that was covered in dust and cobwebs. Gabriel looked excited, taking your hand as he rushed inside. You were right in front of the steps when he came to a halt, tearing away his hand. You would have teased him, but then he brought out a bag of share-sized Skittles, your favorite candy. You gasped and snatched the bag from his warm hands.

"Thank you; thank you; thank you!" You repeated, incredibly happy. When you were younger, your parents wouldn't allow you to have a lot of sugar and forced you to eat like rabbits, which caused you to be incredibly skinny and hardly gain weight even when you could pig-out. That caused a bit of self-unsureness when you were under weight. Once Gabriel learned of this, he took you to a candy store and bought over a dozen different types of snacks for you to try. Now, you had learned your favorite sweets - including everything Gabe loved, that way you could treat him as well.

"You seemed off the other day and I didn't have anything with me then, but I wanted to check you were eating okay. I just noticed that over the past week or so that you were a little different, so I thought this might help. I have four more in my bag in the car," Gabriel said, and with each word, you loved him even more. He has always been looking out for you, noticed the little things. You wished you had the courage to tell him how you felt, but didn't want to ruin your amazing friendship if he didn't feel the same. So you settled for occasional flirting, free snacks, and a fabulous friend.

You reached over and hugged him. He was stiff in surprise for a moment, before completely engulfing you in his being. You smiled into his chest. He really was tremendous. Gabe stood back after a few seconds, letting you tuck away the candy. You finally entered the supposed haunted house, side by side, and you felt him take a deep breath. You nudged him gently.
