2- Natchlivfe

The body of Yeves Draco was covered by a sheet of white that contrasted the black smell of death that lingered in the air.

Kage had been informed about what had happened by Katt, who had managed to escape the scene. He found it hard to believe that Yeves had abandoned them after the fight, but he found it harder to believe that the fight was far from over.
The fight against Orphous.

"We were setting up to analyse a planet that we had just discovered when we received a distress signal. Even though the ship was un-registered, Yeves answered it and discussed the situation with the sender. "
Katt paused and looked towards Yeves now white covered body before continuing.
"He was told that the sender was being pursued by Valkyrie rogues and that they needed help as their Freighter class ship did not have the firepower or the momentum to escape them.
Yeves promised them as much help as he could provide and gave them our sub-light co-ordinates. "
She paused and covered her face.
"And thats where things started to go wrong im guessing..." Kage assumed as he glanced Yeves out of the corner of his eye.
"He postponed the exploration mission and prepared the Titanstar to attack a single Valkyrie Battlecruiser that the sender had informed him about. "

"But it wasn't just one?" Kage questioned. 
"They weren't even Valkyrie...."
She paused for a few seconds, as if she was building up the courage to utter their names.
"They were Banì*."

Kage's jaw dropped as Katt told him this news.
"How did the Banì manage this?" He managed to question, "What kind of state is the Titanstar in?"

"There was over 64 Battlecruisers in total. They all warped in at the same time. Yeves only managed to take down around half of them before they docked and....." Katt froze.

"And killed him..." Kage finished as he looked down towards the floor.
"If they took any weapon or shield parts from the Titanstar then we are in a considerable amount of danger." Kage informed Katt.
"That's the strange part Kage. They didn't take anything! They boarded the ship, killed Yeves and left." She explained.

Kage let himself a moment to digest what Katt had just said.
"They didn't take a single thing?" He asked in dis-belief.

"Nothing. The second they killed him, they ceased fire and left the ship. Even during the fight they didn't try to take a shot at me; just him. " she inquired.

Kage sat; pinned between confusion and grief.
"Thats not normal Banì behaviour. " Kage inquired, looking at Katt.
She was shaken by the event and kept lifting her paws up to her face ; covering her eyes and moving her hair.
"Banì believe in total chaos when it comes to taking control of a ship and they usually salvage and steal whatever they can from any scrap ship they find. This behaviour is completely wrong!"

Kage's eyes darted across the room as if he was looking at invisible pieces of data and was trying to piece them together in a way that made any sense or that provided a reasonable reason behind this precise attack.

"The only thing that would explain this is that the Banì were under control from some other force. "
Kage paused.
"Did you notice anything off about them? Anything odd visually?"

Katt shifted her hair from her face yet again and replayed the crisis in her mind.
"I didn't get a good enough sight of some of them, but the ones I saw were normal...."

"So not Valkyrie..." Kage replied, almost disappointed. 
"However," Katt continued, "the leader spoke Tatakaian*."

"You mean..."
Katt nodded slowly.
"Not a Banì. "

Kage absorbed this newly gained fact and stashed it into the back of his brain and zoned back onto the most important thing at hand; Yeves.

The two smartly dressed wolves now re-entered the room and the larger of the two spoke first.
"I am Agent Cole. This is my partner Agent Smith. "
His smaller partner nodded his head and allowed Cole to continue talking.
"We are members of the DMT..."
Kage expected an extended version of this abbreviation but Cole just continued.
"We work for the government on secret operations. Your friend here is one of them. "
