"So Y/N, are all these rumours true? Are you really dating THE Tom Hiddleston?" the interviewer asked raising her eyebrow at you.
You snorted, "Well I'm sorry to disappoint but you're not even close. In fact, the only time I spent with Tom after filming Midnight in Paris in 2011 was when he auditioned for another film role which I am afraid I gave to someone else."
"Well that's a shame but we can all dream can't we. Now would you like to quickly mention your new project before we leave."
"Certainly. We have just begun the casting of my newest film which is based on a very famous novel. And although I can't say much yet, I can say this will be one of my most challenging but hopefully rewarding films yet."
"Maybe you could cast Tom?" the woman joked.
"Maybe but I wouldn't get your hopes up," you joked back.
The interview ended and to be honest you couldn't be more thankful. Being as polite as you are, you thanked the people who held the interview before getting into the black car waiting outside for you with your usual driver, Woody. You sit on the comfy leather seat in the back and take off your heels before throwing your bag onto the seat next to you. You let out an exasperated sigh that you honestly didn't even realise you were holding in.
"Straight home today, is it Miss Y/L/N?" Woody asked looking at you concerned as he probably noticed the bags under your eyes that you had been trying to hide and the frustrated look on your face.
"You know me way to well Woody. Maybe I should start walking to places more," you chuckled happy to be in someone's company that you could be relaxed with.
Woody started driving and he laughed at you, "I wouldn't Miss, I may be out of a job if you did that too much."
You smiled, "do you know what I have planned for tomorrow Wood?"
"You have casting to go to tomorrow but that is only a 10 minute drive away and it starts at 11am which means you can get a good night sleep."
"Thank you Woody."
"Now is it okay if I guess Miss, that they asked you about Mr Hiddleston again?"
"Wow, is it that obvious?" you run your hands through your hair, "I just don't understand. I cast him in Midnight In Paris 6 years ago. And there was nothing going on between us then either. I know everyone sees him as this incredible hero and, yes he has talent, but I'm afraid to say everyone has dark sides and his overtakes his acting in my book."
Woody kept silent and only spoke when you reached your house. You thanked him and he just nodded, reminding you to get some sleep.
You made yourself some tea and opened up Twitter. The company you had just interviewed with had already posted a headline that really angered you.
'Y/N Y/L/N shoots down Hiddleston rumours with a hint of aggression. Was there a spark that went wrong?'
Could they not for once focus on your career. Your job. Your work. Sometimes you really hated the media, even though as a director, your whole life revolved around it. Nothing had or ever will go on between you and Tom. As a matter of fact, you don't remember the last time you spoke to the guy. When you met him, he was broken. But his talent shone through the cracks in his skin like a kaleidoscope. As much as you think he made the film better, he made your life hell while filming it. Most people see him as you did, before you actually met him, as a kind, handsome and humble man in the prime decade for his acting career. However he was far from many of those things. You knew him as a filthy man, who brought a new woman and a new bottle of vodka on set everyday just to fill the gaps in his life that his acting career never seemed to fill for him. The film took 3 months longer than planned to film because of him. Waiting for him to sober up and act like the man and professional you believed him to be. You don't hear all that in the news however. Or on pathetic little headlines like the one you'd just read. After the film was done you were glad to be rid of his presence but it seemed his shadow still loomed around you wherever you intended to go. You vowed never to cast Tom in another film again, or ever speak to him really. Of course, you were curious as to if he had changed but you didn't really care enough to find out and so, so far so good. But that didn't mean that the rest of the world or the media agreed with your decisions.
You decided to get some sleep like Woody suggested and before you knew it you were woken to the dreaded sound of your phone ringing. Looking at the clock, you saw it was only 8am and you felt anger flood through your veins at someone interrupting the only good nights sleep you have had in the last 2 weeks. You picked up your phone to see an unknown number and rubbed your eyes to adjust your vision before answering it.
"Morning, Y/N Y/L/N speaking," you whispered not having the energy to speak any louder.
"Miss Y/L/N, we are so sorry to call you so early without any notice but we need to arrange the casting for earlier," your co-director David's voice spoke in a sympathetic tone.
"It's okay David, I was already awake," You lied to keep the peace, "Why do we need to rearrange?"
"See we have a special actor coming in for an audition at 9:30 but he can't stay long due to his other planned flight for another film premiere tonight."
"Oh right, I see, I see. That's fine I'll just call Wood and-"
"Already done that for you Y/N. You just get yourself sorted and I will sort out everything else for you."
"Thank you so much David, I will see you then."
You said your goodbyes and eventually you got into the car with Woody again. This time you sat in the front and he looked at you uncertainly. You normally sit in the back but you could do with some company and Woody was always good company.
"Is everything okay Miss?" he asked.
You smiled at him, "I'm fine Woody, I just needed some sort of company this morning. Besides, I took your advice last night and although this is earlier than expected I haven't felt more rested in a long time."
"Good good Miss Y/L/N, I'm glad you're okay."
Woody put on the radio quietly and you drove to the audition centre.
There were a few people already there which surprised you that they were so dedicated and you tried to keep note of their faces for the future auditions. By now you were curious as to who this mysterious actor was but you had had so many mysterious actors that you had gotten used to just waiting to find out who it is.
You greeted David and some other team members after inviting Woody in for a cup of tea before he went to pick up your mother for whatever plans she had today.
"Let's get started," you announced, excited that this film was finally going to start coming to life.
However you did not expect what came next to happen today, or any day for that matter. You sat at the judging desk and someone knocked on the door.
"Come in," you shouted.
Then in walked the man you had always wanted to see but always denied yourself the chance in case of him being the same man you remembered him as.
"Hello Miss Y/L/N, it's nice to see you again," Tom nodded and smiled at you as he stood on the cross in the middle of the room ready to begin his audition.
