Marigold

Luckily, I didn't end up getting suspended even though I might have enjoyed it way better than having to deal with the bullshit of pretentious fake people like Kade. James was nice enough to defend me in the office saying it was inequitable. He actually wasted his precious time helping me when it only got more grim. We both ended up getting after school detention for the whole upcoming week and we had to clean the cafeteria on Friday.

My house was already making my life a living hell and now school had made it worse thanks to Kade.

People aren't always who you think they are. At some point in time, they'll show their true colors. Most of the friends I had in the past were only hanging out with me due to vested interest.

Revenge.

That's how I always resolved my problems and honestly I know it's not the best way to figure out things but it was better than suppressing my anger. I guess I have always felt angry from a very young age and I don't know if I was ever truly happy. Things have happened to me in the past that I don't dare speak to with anyone not even James. The pain wasn't bearable.

I went to my class right after my encounter with Mr. Hyatt, our lovely principal who loves torturing students with exams and detentions. The only reason he had been nice to me in the first place was because my parents give him large amounts of money and according to him I excelled academically. He said I would have gotten suspended if weren't for the close 'friendship' my family and I seem to have with him.

Once I got to class my AP Calculus teacher, Mrs.Porter, bitched at me for being late to her class stating that her class was fundamental to my education. I ignored her and sat at my seat which was located to the right of the classroom. I looked two desks down from mine to the left. It was empty. That's where Kade sat. I had something in mind. But would it be good enough? I spent most of my time in class devising a plan to get back at him. I found AP Calculus to be ridiculously easy and I usually didn't pay attention to the lectures because I was always able to do my homework and aced every test given.

Lunch time was finally here and I met with James at our regular table which only consisted of us two losers.

"Hey," I said throwing my bag on the table.

"Hey! You did great!" James cheered with a cheeky smile.

"Why are you always so happy? It might sound good to you but Kade thought otherwise. If it weren't for my parents I would've gotten suspended."

"But you didn't. Besides, who cares what that prick thought? I think you can create a one woman band!"

"One woman band? Can't you just call it a soloist like a normal person?"

"No I can't but you know you love me and my craziness!"

"I never said such thing," I said gasping holding my hand against my chest.

"Speaking of the devil, look who just got to the 'popular' table."

I turned around and saw Kade I stared at him for a few minutes until we made eye contacted and that's when I decided to look away.

"James, that's a lost cause."

" We should go out for some ice cream today after your amazing performance."

"Maybe. I would have to go home first to change into something decent other than sweats though."

"Yeah. You should dress up like you do every morning until you change into that."

"I can't. That's not who I am and I don't want people to start praising me when they found out I have rich parents."

"I love how it's only me and you girl!" James said pulling me into a hug.
