This book will PROBABLY NOT have a sequel. BUT it will have a prequel following Christopher in his life before the Resistance.
It took me two whole, continuous days to write the plot outline.
Xerxes is my favorite character despite being a side character with very few appearances.
Thalia originally was named Antoinette, but she died too quickly, but I liked the name Antoinette too much to just throw it away after two chapters, so I changed it.
The story was heavily influenced by Seraph of the End, which is very obvious at the beginning two chapters
My favorite chapter to write was chapter 46 where we see a soft side of Christopher for the first time with his son.
No one's age was ever given. Nova and Leon were 19, Thalia and Ridge were 24, Christopher and Zethus were 25, Pax was 20, and Tony was 22.
Almost none of these chapters were written in order. I did 1-8 together and then started skipping around after that to my favorite chapters of the block I was focusing on to my least.
I was shocked to find out people actually shipped Nova and Christopher together since I never planned for it.
I got all my horse information from my personal horse guru MeMeowBubbles so bless her for answering all my stupid questions.
I had a hard time remembering who knew about Nova's past and to the extent as to what they knew. After getting that straightened out, a few of the chapters had to be fixed in order to make sure it followed the story.
Out of all the things that could have inspired me to write this book, it was a "How to Write Books Well" directory that I read for shits and giggles.
The Humanity at Stake story was not originally going to get a prequel, but due to an idea brought to me, I decided that I was going to do one.
Christopher originally didn't have a son.
The Humanity universe is separate from post apocalypse Earth. They are their own world. It's a weird mix of old times verses modern technology.
The book was always more centered on the action, but I planned for Leon to initiate a relationship with Nova at the end.
Christopher spins his bowstaff a lot in order to spin his problems away.
In chapter 38, where Leon was poisoned, I brought up the rising sun was a deep red in color. This is based from the old rhyme "Red at night, sailor's delight. Red in the morning, sailors take warning".
Nova's innocence was one of the best things to write, and I will probably add in a bit more if I ever come around to editing the draft again.
Child McChildson was a strong suggestion as Orin's nickname.
