I saw Cleo and Sara standing over Drakes body. Cleo had come over, not mournfully, but slightly giddy. I wanted to strike her, this was our best friend.
“It’s not Drake,” Sara said
I gasped and ran to the body, blood was everywhere, but I was relieved I couldn’t recognize the face. The man, slightly older than Henry, had flaming red hair, a large nose, and he was very tall, not Drake.
“This man had shifted into Drakes form, only a really experienced shifter can do that!” She sounded exhilarated, as if the wisest man on the earth was here, well he might have been, but then again, he was stupid to try to go up against Henry.
I was frightened, if this man had said the truth, he had to get a picture or a living model of the real Drake, I tried to explain to Cleo, but she just said
“He could have just copied the school year book, he’s in the Chess Club, and his official school picture is bound to be in there.”
I couldn’t accept it I retorted
“But how did he answer his phone, and reply?”
Henry answered,
“The shifter must be in harm; the betrayer must have used him as a live form, stole his cell phone, and answered accordingly.”
I still understand, how did this shifter have such perfect timing?
I asked Henry, but he didn’t know, he said
“Arowiess must be keeping a close eye on you, and all communications” He eyed my friends very carefully. I bit my lip and I said
“Girls, go check on Drake, he must be in danger if someone could have stolen his identity that easily. While you’re there, tell him everything about tonight.” They nodded and dashed out the door.
Henry looked at the dead body, he seemed to be waiting for something. I looked at him and he said
“Why haven’t they taken him yet?”
I shrugged, not understanding, I seemed to not be understanding thing a lot lately.
“The underworld hasn’t claimed his soul and body yet,”
He grunted and picked up the body. He threw it onto the front porch. The body lay still, then the grass and vines grew over the corpse and sucked him down, to the ‘underworld’. He brushed his hands together and he took out the lightning bolt again. He must have it 24/7, he threw it up into the sky, like the night on our second date, and we were teleported into the heavens. We walked slowly and cautiously up to the four guards, he whispered to me
“The gates of Olympia are guarded by the four Seasons, Old man Winter, Spring, Fall, and my favorite, Summer.”
He smiled warmly to the Black man; he did not return the favor. Henry held my hand and we walked up to the Seasons, they stopped us like vermin.
The black man said to Henry
“She is not a god, or Liteite.”
Henry stubbornly said
“Yes, yes she is, she is a telepath.”
Summer and Winter eyed me cautiously, like a loose tiger, that’s been kept from its food for days.
“Can you prove it?”
I nodded and I probed his mind, I had to find his, but was blocked with the fuzziness of the supernatural. I grabbed his hand and his fuzziness washed away like a waterfall. He was scared and doubtful, he looked to the old man, and raised his eyebrows, he was doubtful as well, but I caught a glimpse of a memory. I saw a woman bending over, I saw her stomach round with life, and she picked up a helmet, the one he was wearing now, she said something but I had to piece it together
