he left her, and she was depressed.
CH 4
Hey, what's up?
Rosie had just sent Callum this text, before she cozied up in the cocoon of blankets that were keeping her warm. She was having a very chilled out morning, as she watched How the Grinch stole Christmas, for the millionth time on her laptop. Beside her was a plate of cookies, and a tall glass of warm milk.
She was pushing herself to accept the fact that Callum had stopped loving her. And more than accepting, she also wanted to stop trying to fix it. She had to stop trying to bring him back and make him love her. Because what was the point, when the relationship felt as though it ran on the efforts of one person?
But, as always, there was that small part of her, that just blankly refused to accept that he stopped loving her. It couldn't be. You cant stop loving a person after two years...can you?
Her phone buzzed with a text, and she paused the movie on her laptop, before checking the message.
I've just dropped in at Wesley's Musical Repairs shop, to get a couple more guitar strings. What about you? :)
Wesley's Musical Repairs shop. That was just two blocks away.
Without even thinking Rosie quickly typed out a reply.
Oh do you think you can come home? Just for a little while? Please, please, please?
This was going to be it. The last time that Rosie would try to fix their relationship. And even after this, if he still didn't change, then Rosie would just have to move on.
But how?
Her phone buzzed again.
Sure thing. But only for a little while, okay? I'm pretty busy.
She typed out her reply, and sprang up out of the bed. She knew Callum loved popcorn, so she headed down to the kitchen and proceeded to make a batch of the buttery goodness. She sprinkled in some paprika, just they way he liked it. She then tied her hair into a ponytail and then made a steaming mug of hot chocolate. She dolloped in some cream, just the way he liked it.
When she was all done, she stood in front of the mirror, and adjusted her grey v-neck jumper. Was there a way to change this situation, just the way he liked it? She looked at her reflection. The slight bags forming under her eyes, were proof that she hadn't been sleeping very well for the past couple of days.
Before she could focus on herself for a longer time, she heard the ringing of the doorbell. She saw her grandma proceed to open the door, abandoning her knitting on the table. However, Rosie beat her to it, and she opened the door with a wide grin.
There he was, standing on her porch, looking as adorable as ever. There were small flecks of snow on his soft brown hair, and Rosie just had the sudden urge to ruffle it. She smiled at him, not caring about the cold wind that smarted her eyes.
"Hi," she said, as she leaned against the doorframe.
"Hey Rosie," he said, with a cute smile.
