Chapter Two

New Beginnings

"Welcome to headquarters, Y/N." Ryuzaki stated as you looked around the room.

"Thanks." You winked at him in a friendly manner. He looked at you strangely and you resisted the flush that wanted to rise up. 'Well that was embarrassing.'

     "We're back!" A young man with black hair and brown eyes shouted when he and five others entered the headquarters.

     "I would like to introduce a new member of our team, say hello to Y/N." Ryuzaki explained to the team as all the men were in awe. You raised an elegant brow.

     "Yes?" You responded to their stares. You moved some of your hair which had fallen in front of you to your back and held a hand on your hip.

"Hello Y/N! My name's Touta Matsuda but you can call me Matsui!" Matsui told you while blushing intensely. You held your hand up to his face and formed your fingers to look like a small gun.

"Bang!" You whispered as you lifted your hand to make it seem like you fired.

Everyone looked at you strangely except for Ryuzaki. Although surprised, his thumb moved to his lip.

"If I were Kira you'd be dead, Matsui." You stated as your eyes darkened. "Luckily for you I'm not Kira!" You held your hand out and shook his with a now cheerful expression.

"Hello Chief!" You exclaimed to Siochiro Yagami, your chief, while frantically waving. He greeted you with a small nod. Everyone began to introduce themselves to you.

"Aizawa." You shook his hand.

"Kanzo Mogi." You smiled politely at him and shook his hand.

    "Light Yagami. Nice to meet you, Y/N." Light smiled at you and you both shook hands. Something about him made you feel uneasy, you couldn't put your finger on it. Maybe it was just cause this was the Chief's son?

    "Misa Amane!" The blonde girl stated loudly and cheerfully as she immediately hugged you, you awkwardly hugged back. "We'll be great friends!" She told you whilst letting go.

"Now that introductions have been done, Watari, please show Ms. Y/N to her personal room." Ryuzaki said to Watari as everyone sat down and immediately began working.

Watari nodded and brought you to your room. Minutes passed as he guided you through the stairs and various doors but finally, you two arrived.

     "This is your personal bedroom and bathroom. All meals will be eaten on the first floor with us." Watari informed before leaving you with your stuff.

'Okay, I guess.' You thought while moving your stuff into your bedroom. You unpacked everything and plopped onto your bed. You sighed in relief.

     It was night and you were tired so you decided to go to bed. You walked into your bathroom to brush you teeth and walked out in only your undergarments. You put on some simple slippers and put a thick robe on to go downstairs to the first floor where everyone was currently at.

     You arrived at your destination and realized only Ryuzaki was there, everyone else had already left to their rooms.

     "Ryuzaki?" You called out as you popped out from the side of the wall, he turned to look at you.

     "Yes?" He asked you back with a clueless expression.

'How does he seem cute when he's clueless?' You surprised yourself at your own thoughts and mentally tried to shake off the feeling of nervousness which crept up.

     "Goodnight." You quietly told him as you did a small salute and turned to leave.

"Wait." You heard Ryuzaki say and you popped out from the side of the wall again. A curious look decorated your features. "Goodnight." He calmly said back to you as he turned to keep working. You gave him a small smile and left.

     When you arrived, you plugged in your phone and looked at your notifications. You frowned, you didn't get anything. You sighed and let your robe drop. Out of pure boredom, you began humming. As your humming went on, it turned to soft singing. Though, a couple minutes later you felt someone behind you and abruptly stopped singing to turn around.

     "You sing beautifully, Y/N." Ryuzaki told you as you flushed. You grabbed your robe from the floor and quickly put it on.

"Why are you in my room?!" You shouted with a bit of anger and embarrassment. You covered your face with your hands and sat down. "I'm basically naked, oh my god! I can't believe you saw me like that!"

     "I apologize, I didn't mean to intrude... I was just wondering if you wanted to join me for a slice of cake tomorrow morning..." He slowly stated. You peeked at him through your hands and surprised yourself at the very slight pink his face now held.

     "Sure I'd be glad to but God, Ryuzaki, knock next time!" You responded as you stood up and stood next to your door.

     "Why?" Ryuzaki asked with an innocent expression. You faced-palmed and walked towards him. Turning him around, you began to lightly push him out of your room.

     "Oh gosh, you know why!" You kicked him out with a slight push. You looked up at him, leaning against your door frame.

     "Yes, you are wearing only undergarments." He stated quietly. You chuckled loudly.

     "You good?" You asked him while touching his forehead to check his temperature. He cleared his throat.

"I apologize, I just... forget it..." Ryuzaki mumbled as he turned around to leave.

     "Ryuzaki?" You asked him as you gripped your robe tightly.

"Yes?" He responded as he turned to look at you. You walked towards him and pulled on his sleeve to give him a kiss on the cheek.

"Goodnight." You told him with a shy tone as he turned around to face you. He seemed to contemplate something intensely before he slowly raised his hand to your cheek to caress it. Your face flushed and Ryuzaki moved down to your face.

Your face heated up much more and you closed your eyes, accepting this and liking the idea. Nothing happened for a bit and you opened your eyes, confused. "Goodnight." Ryuzaki stated with a small smile as he turned around and left. You stood in small shock and closed the door, forcing yourself to go to sleep.
