You were waiting for someone to come and give you a new job to do since you finished all your previous ones last night. Unfortunately, you didn't think that you would get one any time soon as everyone around you was running around, doing their own thing.

"(N/n)?"

Again, your heart rate increased at hearing the heavenly voice of Ignis.
You turned around and saw him standing only a foot's width from you. For a moment, you almost forgotten how to speak. You weren't prepared to face him so suddenly! Not to mention this closely!

"Yeah?" you choked out.

"Are you busy at the moment?"

"Nope."

"Ah, I see. I'm just here to tell all the people who are free that you can return home."

"Oh? How come?"

"Everything that needs to be done is full at the moment. We don't have any chores available for some people to do. And since you have no work, your free to go and take care of your personal matters."

"Really?! Oh, thank you, Iggy!" If you weren't so shy and if he weren't so stiff, you would have hugged him. However, if you had, that would be totally uncalled for and would make Ignis suspicious of your feelings. Not like you've never tried to make him aware of them... you have but... the poor guy just wouldn't get the message through his head! You had made him his favourite dinner, tried to get him to talk about relationships, pretended to trip and fall so he would come running and hopefully fall in love with you somehow. Nothing worked!

However, you never gave up.

"Well, I must be on my way. His Highness still has his speech to practice."

You giggled after remembering that.

"I sure hope he doesn't fail when he actually has to do it," you say.

"Indeed," he stated. Even though there was amusement in his voice, his lovely visage showed no emotion whatsoever. It was as if he had stone underneath his flesh.

You had never seen him smile. Ever...

After a long train ride back to your apartment, you collapsed on your bed. As you stared up at the ceiling, your mind, for some reason, drifted into deep thought about your crush. You loved the guy to pieces, but he made you extremely frustrated at the same time. You had thought about just coming clean and confessing to him... but... it was so hard. Why was it so hard to just say the words? One word: Rejection. There was no doubt in your mind that Ignis didn't reciprocate your feelings. You knew full well that he thought of you as a good friend... just like the guys. He even gave you a friendly nickname, (n/n). You have absolutely no idea where he got it from or what it was about you that he would think that it suited you. But, you were overwhelmingly greatful for that. Just thinking about it made your lips twitch upward slightly.

'(Y/n), my (n/n)... I love you.'

Oh, how you longed to hear his beautiful accented voice say those sweet words. That was pretty much the only reason you kept going everyday. That maybe someday, somehow, your ears could actually hear those words in reality. You sighed.

Well... I guess I could be more expressive with my advances. The banquet would definitely be a good chance to- Your eyes flung open and you jolted straight up- The banquet! I still have to go and get a dress!

You grabbed what you needed and bolted out the door. Thankfully, because you lived in the heart of downtown, almost all the best stores were right outside your complex.
