Looking at your reflection in the small mirror, you started to be a little more observant of your own features. Your skin was very pale, making you look sick-which you technically were considering that you had vomited a minute ago. Your (e/c) eyes were dull, pupils extremely small, almost as if they weren't there: as well as visible dark undertones underneath, clearly showing how sleep-deprived you had been before taking those sleeping pills. The (h/l) (h/c) hair on your head was frizzy and lacked volume or bright colour. Your chapped lips were smaller than they normally were, but they displayed prominent cracks on the surface.
You gave a very harsh sigh as you looked away from the mirror and onto the sink below. You splashed hot water on your face- only to have it make your nausea return. So, you tried cold... it didn't do much help. You leaned forward on the sink, your weight only supported by your arms and hands that were holding the sides of the sink, letting your wet face dry. The humming from the air conditioning plus your heavy, shaky breathing were the only sound surrounding the bathroom. You stayed that way for a few moments before the cellphone rang on the counter beside you.
"Hello?"
"Heya!" It was Prompto on the other side, his boyish voice as cheerful as ever.
"Hey. What's up?"
"I need help going shopping for some supplies. Are you up for that?"
"Okay, sure."
"Yay! Be at your place in about an hour."
"Okay. See you."
"You, too!"
A subconscious smile tugged at the corners of your lips as you ended the call.
*
The expected knock on the door reached your ears. You hopped off your bed and answered it, instantly greeted by Prompto's smile.
"Hey! Ya ready?" he asked gleefully.
"Yep," you replied in a sarcastic tone, putting your purse strap on your shoulder.
*
It was dusk by the time you got to the palace with the heap of groceries. You gave an exhausted sigh as you slumped down in the nearest chair. Prompto gave a strained grunt as he stretched.
"Thanks for the help," he said.
"You owe me big time," you replied, pretty much half asleep.
"Yeah, I know."
"Ah~I see you actually did your task." Your eyes shot open at the voice. Ignis came into view and began peering through the bags. "Well done, Prompto."
You cleared your throat. Ignis looked behind him and saw you. The eye contact made your heart leap.
"Oh. I see you had some assistance," he said, his tone laced with disappointment towards Prompto. "Thank you, (n/n)." You blushed at the notion of being praised by Ignis himself. Goodness knows how hard he was to please.
"Hey! We both did 50/50 of the whole thing! I still did what I was supposed to do!" Prompto whined. Ignis glanced at him a few moments then back at you.
"Well... I suppose you did," he replied. For a split second, you saw his small green eyes scan you up and down from behind his glasses. You looked away and couldn't stop a shy smirk pulling at your lips, your cheeks burning a hue hotter.
"Since you two put in the effort of fetching all this, I'll reward you by giving you a guest room so you don't have to go through the trouble of going all the way back to your own residence."
Both of you gawked Ignis with wide eyes.
"Really!? Aw, thanks buddy, you're the best!" Prompto cheered with glee. However, you were filled with utter confusion and shock.
"What!? No, Iggy, you can't do that. We're commoners. We can't stay the night at-" You were abruptly cut off by Ignis's silver gloved hand a few inches away from your face, signaling for you to halt your small rant. When he lowered his hand, there was a very gentle, almost sympathetic look on his features.
"I insist," he said softly. At this point, your face was as red as a beet. You swallowed hard and looked down.
"Okay," you whispered in defeat.
Little did you know that one of the men noticed your strange behaviour, the other one failed to.
***
You just couldn't believe it! Not only had Ignis gave you a room, but he also got one of the maids to get a beautiful nightgown that was made out of precious blue silk. Your cheeks failed to fight the blazing heat of red yet again as you gazed at your form that was adorn with the gown, which was extremely comfy and sleek. One thing was for sure: you would always wear this gown to bed for the rest of your life. Your heart fluttered at just the thought of Ignis giving you a dress.
Suddenly, there was a knock . You snapped out of your thoughts and went to the door. Upon opening it, your eyes came into contact with Prompto's blue ones. He had his hands on his hips, a sly, mischievous smirk on his pale lips. You cocked a brow in confusion and suspicion.
"What?" you asked. Prompto walked in with a confident beat in his steps.
"I think I might know your little secret," he stated in a teasing tone, his expression was no different. Now you were totally confused.
"What secret ?"
"Oh, nothing. Just maybe that you have the hots for good ol' Iggy~"
Those words felt like a slap across the face. A gasp escaped your throat and your eyes expanded beyond their limit. Not to mention the tomato-coloured blush could be seen a whole mile away.
"W-W-WHAT!?" you shouted in disbelief. Prompto's grin grew more broad.
"I saw the way you were acting around him tonight. All that red-faced shyness of yours really gave you away. Y'know, I just can't understand how any of us never figured it out until now." You couldn't believe that you had been so obvious about it. Now all those years of having that secret covered up was now revealed.
And of course, it just had to be Prompto...
The words in your throat were stuck. There was nothing you could say. There was nothing you could do to make the blonde forget what he knew or saw. It was too late.
"L-Look, just promise me you won't tell him!"
"Aw, c'mon (y/n), don't be scared. For all I know, he probably likes you, too." You opened your mouth to say something but nothing came out but a gasp after realizing what Prompto just said.
"H-He...w-what?"
"Haven't you ever noticed the way he looks at you? Do you ever wonder why he gave you that little nickname? Or why he lied about how there was nothing for you to do today so you could go home? And even why he gave you this dress when I never got anything else but that room?"
All you did was stare at your blonde friend in shock. It was as if the planet had stopped moving. You could neither speak or think. Was what Prompto said... true?
"Anyway~I should probably go so you can dream about your sweet little Iggy-wiggy all night long," he laughed as he exited.
You just stood there... unable to process anything.
*(A/N-I know it's none of my business, but I would enjoy it very much if any of you would like to share the nickname you picked out, the curiosity is kinda killing meXD)
