Tristan got up, the sun shining through the window as she sat up on her bed. She looked around at her messy room, thinking about what school would be like today. She got up from her bed and walked over to her small, wooden desk and stared at last night's homework. Tristan shoved various books, papers, and binders in her black backpack. She rummaged through her closet looking for something decent to wear. Not too bold, and not too flashy. She finally managed to dress herself in a teal sweater with black jeans along with a pair of teal converse. She exited her room and entered the bathroom doing her daily routine. She looked herself in the mirror with her brown, hazel eyes. Tristan had had long, dark brown hair that was often seen tied into a ponytail. She walked back to her room, grabbed her backpack, and walked downstairs.
"Hi, sweetie!" Tristan's Mom said with a soft, gentle smile.
"Hi, Mom!" Tristan replied back. She took a deep breath, loving the sweet aroma of freshly made pancakes. Tristan took a seat on the dining table next to her Dad.
"Good morning Tris!" He exclaimed as he reached his hand out to ruffle the teenaged girl's hair. "Are you excited for school?"
"A little." She replied as her Mom walked towards her and placed a plate of pancakes in front of her.
She grabbed a fork and shoved the delicious food into her mouth. She quickly finished her breakfast and stood up from the table.
"Bye Mom! Bye Dad!" Tristan said cheerfully as she walked towards the door and reached for the doorknob.
"Bye, sweetie!" They both replied.
