She exited the house and walked towards her school. On the way, she passed by a bakery. The sweet smell of freshly baked goods filled her nose. She sighed, enjoying the peaceful morning.
"Hey!" Someone behind her said.
Tristan glanced behind her. Her eyes widened with joy.
"Hi, Leo!" She replied back, with a large smile on her face.
They walked to school together in silence. They each enjoyed the calm morning and the feeling of each other's presence.
Suddenly, a flash of white light caught Tristan's attention. She looked around and stared at an old, broken down house. The roof was falling apart, some of it has already caved in. The wood was rotting, being eaten away by termites. The broken window was reflecting light that pointed towards her face.
'That's what must've caught my attention.' She thought. 'I wonder what happened there...'
Tristan shrugged off the creepy thought and continued to walk.
They finally arrived at school and headed to class. Tristan and Leo luckily had their first period together. She sat in her seat, with Leo sitting behind her. Tristan stared off into space, her mind wandering. Leo, on the other hand, was passed out on his desk, snoring softly.
