Percy Jackson, the Son of Chaos

Percy woke up to the sound of his own scream. Nightmares were never a good sign when you're a demigod. The cold floor of forest hurts his back, and the thistles scattered around didn't make it any better. He sat up, rubbing his eyes, yawning. It was funny, what just happened. Being caught by one of the demigods from Hypnos's cabin wasn't very smart. He didn't even have the time to process it. And now here he was, lying on the floor in the forest at the back of Camp Half-Blood.
Of course, Annabeth would come get him, wouldn't she? She was his best friend. The one he could trust. The one he could rely on. The one he could stop acting like a hero in front of.
But as of lately, she sensed distraught and distance, almost as if she was afraid. Percy could sense this, but he didn't have the courage to go and confront her.
Annabeth is brave and independent, he had said. She can deal with things on her own.
Percy knew Annabeth didn't want to burden him more, but then again, they carried the same weight, so what was a few more worries?
Percy sighed. He should have known he would fall asleep during the capture the flag game. Shaking his head, he rose slowly, using riptide for balance. Though it was dark, he could faintly make out the form of a teenage girl. Raising his head higher, he squinted his eyes. Annabeth. His smile stretched wider as he bounded over to her. Of course, she had come, armed with her bronze dagger swinging heavily by her side.
Stormy eyes, grazing the floor eventually made their way up to meet Percy's sea green. His eye smile, his flowing hair, just him.
"Annabeth! What took you so long? I was waiting Wise Girl!" Percy exclaimed, his grin still plastered over his face.
"Percy...." Her voice was barely a whisper. "Why? Are you planning to leave? Why are you abandoning us? Abandoning me?"
Percy grin ceased to exist. "What? Who told you that? I'm here to stay, to fight with you!"
The wind picked up, sticking Percy's cheeks, whipping Annabeth's hair back and forth. Her eyes were stormy gray, as usual, but troubled, confused, lost. "Percy, why? Why? Why are you leaving me for them? I thought you cared! Percy it's not true! These voices are driving me insane!" She lifted her dagger shakily off the ground, the tip scratching the Earth, and Percy swore he heard a sizzle.
The knot in Percy's throat almost made him choke when Annabeth pointed the award at him, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. "Annabeth, what are you talking about? I'm not leaving I'm here to-"
"SHUT UP! Percy Jackson! Just get lost, you lousy excuse for a hero! You're going to leave me just like Luke, like Thalia, like my mom! Just GO AWAY!"
The wind pushed Percy to the ground, and that's when he heard the whispers.
"He's leaving you. He doesn't love you. You'll be lonely again. He's leaving..."
Percy froze when he made out the whispers of a form surrounding Annabeth. The smoke seemed to almost envelope her, whispering those lies into her ears.
"Yes, that's right. Abandon him before he abandons you."
Annabeth had her head down, sword swaying nervously. Suddenly, she looked up, determination in her eyes. "Percy Jackson, leave, and never come back. You are not welcome to Camp Half-Blood anymore! Get lost before I cut you to pieces!" Annabeth screamed and charged at Percy, the ghostly figure dissipating almost instantly.
Percy didn't have to think before he ran.
And ran. And ran. And ran.
