-=Chapter 4=- -=Seal=-
The ground, the trees, and buildings are covered in beautiful white snow. The nice cool breeze flows through my hair. I played in the snow as if I were a child once again. I see light from ahead of me, I struggled to see the light until a girl, around my age is standing before me. Her hair is white as snow, skin pale as if she always stayed in the cold. She's just wearing a very light blue kimono, and is barefoot. Who is this?
"The pure one." She spoke.
What?
"The pure one. You must hurry."
"Hurry? For what?" I questioned. "Who are you?"
"Before the darkness overcomes the light. You must push the darkness away." She rambled on.
"What? I don't understand what you're saying?"
"Open your eyes."

I opened my eyes, I panicked and struggled catching my breath. Who was that? That voice... I feel like I've heard if from somewhere... I looked around my room, everything was covered from ice. I looked at my hands, ice. Ice everywhere. What's going on?! I screamed, I've never seen my magic can be so... Scary...
"Rin! What happened!" Souta ran to my door.
"Help! I can't control my magic!" I cried.
"Hold on Rin!"

The door is covered by ice, what's happening to Rin?! Is it...
"What's going on?" Questioned Mrs. Yukimura-san.
"Rin is stuck in her room. It looks like she froze everything around her." There's have to be a way for me to get her out of there. I grabbed my wand from my pocket, but Mrs. Yukimura stopped me.
"You can't always depend on magic." she said.
I pulled my arm away from her.
"But I have to protect her." I brought out my wand and used my magic to break down the door into tiny ice shards. Rin was there crying on her bed, everything in her room is frozen. I picked her up from her bed and carried her out to the living room.

Souta put me down, allowing me to stand on my two feet. My skin is pale as a ghost. Souta's hands were turning blue by how cold I am.
"Souta... I-I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to..." I cried.
"No, it's fine... Are you okay?" He questioned.
"I don't know." I've never experienced this at the academy before.
My dad covered me with a blanket. I look at both my parents.
"Mom, dad, what's going on. Tell me. I know you know something." I said.
Silence. Mom and dad stayed quiet. My dad sighed.
"When you were born, you were so bright. You were our little snowflake. One day we noticed that you were able to use your magic when you just a little baby. You were so young that you didn't know how to control it, and that really made it hard on you, and on us." My dad laughed, then he put on a straight face. "It was about to be your 2nd birthday, you were very sick. Not even your mother's healing magic can help. Your magic, it was so pure that so many magic users were trying to take you away from us. Right there we knew we needed help. So your mother and I went to 'The Forest of Dreams' in order to get help."
"What's the 'Forest of Dreams'?" I questioned.
"It's a forest with all kinds of magical creatures. Fairies to orgers." Souta said.
"What?! Fairies exists!? No way! I thought there just tales?" I exclaimed.
"Careful what you say. If someone says that they don't believe in fairies, one dies." My mom said.
Gulp...
"R-right..."
"Continue." Souta said.
"Okay. We went to 'The Forest of Dreams' and got help from a fairy." Dad said. "She told us there was only one way to keep you healthy again, and that is to seal your magic away."
Seal? But...
"We had no choice. We wanted you to be healthy and safe so we sealed your magic."
"And that's why you kept quiet about us being wizards." I can't believe this... "So the day when my magic awakened I broke the seal?"
"Not exactly." Souta said.
"What do you mean by that?" Mom questioned.
"When we were going to save Rin from 'Dark Witch Academy', her pure energy was taken away from her. But something inside her just took over her and provided her more pure energy and fought." Souta saw a full glass of water and picked it up. "Sorry, this is for an example, I'll clean it up when I'm done. Let's say this is Rin's energy. When Kiyoshi stole her energy that time, it was only half." Souta poured half of the water onto the wooden floor. "But it was a whole lot even for a half.""What about my other half of my pure energy?" I asked.
"The other half is sealed. You still have plenty more in storage. Your energy is like doubled-- no-- tripled the amount of a normal wizard." Souta grabbed his handkerchief and started cleaning up the mess he made.
"And about what about the 'power inside' you mentioned the other day?" dad asked.
"This is just a theory but I believe that someone or something is providing energy to Rin. That's how she defeated Kiyoshi." Souta explained.
I thought about the white haired girl in my dream. I think he's right... But why is she protecting me. I thought, why me?
"Where is my seal?" I asked.
"On your back." My mom answered.
I removed the blanket from my back, and since I was just wearing a plain pink tank top you could see my back. I had my hair down so I moved my hair to the front, allowing my back to show.
"I don't see it." said Souta as he tried to search."
"I had the fairy to put a spell only to hide the seal." Mom waved her hand on my back and the seal was able to show.
"How does it look like?" I wanna know!
"It looked like fairy wings." Souta answered.
"Remember your ice wings? They kinda look like fairy wings right? You were able to fly because of this seal." Dad said.
"But... What about Mayu? She has wings too but she doesn't have the seal. She doesn't even have magic." I turned around and covered myself with the blanket again.
"You made her that doll right? The doll like your summoning creature, Yuki. You gave them life. That magic is pretty rare these days. Giving life to the doll is because of your friendship with Mayu. Your friendship is strong, and so that magic from the both gave them life." Souta explained.
"But why does she have wings..." I pouted.
"Since you two gave life to her, your magic energy that was sealed got into the doll. So that gave her the power to fly and protect your friend. Same goes for Yuki. Rin, your energy is so pure that you made life, it can be used for good. But if it get's to the wrong hands it can be used for something bad." Souta said.
I looked at my hands. What do I do? Not to long ago I didn't know I had this power. I was just a normal middle school girl living into a normal life. I thought about my new friends I made these past two months, and I thought about my friends over here. It's too late to go back, all I can do is move forward. Because of magic I made new friends. Because of magic I am here now. Because of magic I must protect my friends, my family, everyone. The white hair girl in my dream told me to push away the darkness. I clutched my hands, whoever you are, I will protect everyone and push away the darkness from people's hearts. I looked at mom with determined eyes.
"Take me to 'The Forest of Dreams' to meet the fairy who sealed my magic." I said.By: Melanie Moreno
