It was a rainy day, people were scudding to get their stuff inside, not wanting certain metals to be rusted.
Esper stared out his window, frowning. This machinery caused more pain than creativity, He'd often ask himself 'what's the point?'
'the only thing it did to me was harm.'
He sighed, Scuffling back to finish his paperwork..
Tick....tick..
Something about the sudden noise startled him, he hadn't owned any clocks, or any sort of tools to tell time.
He walked down stairs
Tick..tick..tick
He opened the door to see, a human hiding under a small broken umbrella, sitting next to his door for shelter...they were...ticking?
T-Tick..........tick....tick
The ticking softened, slowly becoming less and less.
He did the first thing that came to mind, picked the person up and brought them inside.
'They're freezing! How long were they out there in the rain?!'
He set them down on his bed, scrambling to find warm blankets around the house.
After few moments later he returned,
Wrapping them tightly in the warming cloth.
'Hopefully this will help..'
He found towels and attempted to dry them without removing any clothing.
Tick...tick..tick.tick.tick,tick.
The ticks returned to good health
Esper confusedly sat, "who knew a person could tick?"
