Tick tick tick tick
The two sat in silence, in a table in chairs across from one another.
The clo-- er..- they ticked quietly, lightly staring down.
"So you're...a clock?"
They nodded
"Were you supposed to have those gashes??..."
Silence
...
.
.
"Who made them."
They shrunk down
The ticks got quieter...
"..are you running from them?.."
They gave a small nod, seeming uneasy.
"I see, can I at least get their name..?"
They took a second before scribbling something in the paper in front of them
'Dr. emit'
Esper paused "oh..that's-- interesting."
They looked up confusedly
"No no, I'm not surprised it's just interesting." He brushed off
They sighed, looking out the window
"It stopped raining- do you have a home I can take you back to"
They looked at him wide eyes, quickly shaking their head no.
"Do you have a home that you wish not to return to?"
They nodded
"I see."
...
"Do they live there?"
..
..
..
they nodded.
"I see...."
"Did she--he-"
They nodded
"He?"
They nodded again.
"Okay, did he...make you?"
Silence overtook the room, the small fast ticking noise continuing.
"He did didn't he..."
They nodded.
"I...see.."
A furious whistle came from the tea kettle that lay upon the warmed stove, Esper kicked his legs forward, scooting the chair backward as he removed himself to calm the angry tool. Eg covered their ears frowning, squeaking at the unsettling noise.
"It's just a tea kettle," he re assured, accidentally touching the hot surface, wincing slightly with a low hiss. Eg ran up to him, checking his hand to see if it was fine.
"I'm fine I'm fine-- it's just a small burn-"
They frowned, growling at the tea pot that still screeched annoyingly. Esper wrapped his hand in cloth removing the object carefully this time, after having to convince eg it was not a being of pure evil.

...
After a few moments of pouring tea Esper finally asked the question he was pondering over
"Can you even drink tea? Or eat food at the least?"
Eg looked up, quickly staring back down to write, Esper gazed over their shoulder to see the words
'Yes, since I can't use batteries to get power I had to have some way of converting energy, the....doctor.. that I ran from gave me that..'
"Oh- well then grab a dang glass it's gonna get cold."
Eg snickered, laughing clockly (pun intended)
Grabbing a glass and sipping it in silence.
