The Final circus trick

NO!" i exclaimed. " .......... n-not... t-that. M-my p-perents, t-they......." i couldn't bring my self to say it and wiped away the stray tears that had made their way down my face.

" Their dead," batman deadpanned.

I nodded.

Tears streamed down my face forming a small puddle at my feet.

I felt a shift on the couch and a hand on my shoulder.

I flinched and tensed naturally.

I knew who it was but I can't help it.

More tears streamed out of my eyes and small sobs erupted from the back of my throat.

He rubbed big circles on my back just like my dad used to when I had hurt my self.

I stood up ignoring batman on the couch.

" Wait." He deadpanned.

I shook my head and headed towards my room face blank of any emotions.

A flash of yellow was seen before kid flash was standing in front of me.

" Hey ren!!! The team and I are going to the beach you should come!" He exclaimed.

I shook my head keeping my face emotionless.

I tried to walk around him but he grabbed my wrist.

" hey, come on it'll be fun." He pleaded.

Without thinking twice I grabbed his wrist and judo flipped him over my shoulder.

He gasped for air. He looked up at me with betrayal in his eyes before running off who knows where.

I felt a pang of guilt but continued to my room.

Sighing I fell onto my bed and began to drift into a sleep plagued with nightmares.

Did I ever truly escape?
