So while I was on the 15 plus hour flight I couldn’t help but think about Chris. He & his family were the last people to see me. They were like an actual family to me … A real one. My thoughts were interrupted as my kidnapper started speaking to me.
“Aye.” He said.
“The hell do you want.” I said not looking at him.
“You will not get in a rude tone with me do you understand? I will chop decapitate you right here on this plane. Got it?” he said looking at me straight in the eyes.
“… And they’ll have to make a short landing and you’ll go to jail for 1st degree murder. Hmm?” I said smartly.
“Shut the hell up. Now look, when we reach North Korea, you’ll gonna go to a good home ok? Ok.” He said.
“Sure.” I said.
“Good home” my ass. I overheard them saying they were gonna sell me off to some man. Oh and that’s good… sarcasm intended. It’s the fact that I was so abandoned by my biological family, and the minute I finally get to feel loved by family that took me under their wing, I GET FREAKING KIDNAPPED! It’s not fair. Ugh … let’s just see what Korea is like. But I know for a fact it isn’t gonna be all sunshine and picking roses.
Fast forwarding to the end of the plane ride … As we left the airport, North Korea looked nothing like it did on the internet. Instead of seeing the army passing through the area or whatever it looked like an overpopulated New York. Everything was different. Instead of English, it was the Korean Language. I felt out of place a little bit. When people looked at me, it wasn’t hard for them to figure out I was an American.
It took us a few hours to reach the outskirts of Pyongyang. I didn’t know where were going, apparently they did. All I saw was bright green grasslands and huge (I suppose) rice farms and such. I felt somewhat clueless as to what was going on.
Meanwhile back in America …
“What do you mean she’s gone?” Aunt Inez exclaimed.
“It’s surprising how actually care now…” Chris started off.
“Excuse me? Listen here you little brat, I don’t have time for your crap, where is my niece?” she said.
“Ms. Sanchez, you will not speak to my child in that manner. He’s right anyways. If you guys would’ve treated her better she wouldn’t have had to live with us.” Ms. Johnson stated.
“You people are responsible for this.” She said in a sinister tone.
“Actually we are …” Aunt Inez’s kids started off.
“What? Do you know how much trouble you put yourselves in? I can’t bail you out on this one. Sorry. W-Why would you do something like this?” she said in disbelief.
“I always hated her! She got every-freaking-thing she wanted. That Malibu Barbie dream house from when we were kids, the Bel-Air Jordans that I wanted 2 years ago. And the list goes on and on.” Sofia started off.
“She bought those shoes herself.” Jose told Sofia.
“SO?! I don’t care, it’s the fact she gets everything.” She said
“Yeah, I feel you Sofia, and she would walk around like she owned the place. “ Ximena said.
“Like she’s Beyoncé or something. UGH I hated her.” Xanella said.
“That doesn’t give you a right to do that to her though.” Aunt Inez said.
“Me personally, I just didn’t care that much about her, to be honest.” Marco said as Mateo agreed.
“That’s why I called up some people and made her so away.” Santiago started off. “I was so done with her. I always hated her. I don’t know why, I just didn’t like her. I don’t care if she was my cousin. I don’t care about her and as I told her before, I didn’t care if she was a homeless man on the street. She aint staying here and ‘poof’ she’s gone.”
“Oh … well I don’t even know what to say.” Aunt Inez.
“That’s why all of you are under arrest for the kidnapping of Chasity Ramirez.” The police officer said as he and other officers barged in the doors.
“You have the right to remain silent; whatever you say or do will be hell against you, in the New York City court of law.”
“Even though I may never see her again, the least I can do is get justice for her …” Chris said as he was about to break down.
“It’s alright sweetie” His mom said.
“No it’s not… she’s gone. I feel like a piece of me is gone. I can’t take this feeling I have for her away, Mom. We gotta find her. We just have to mom. He said.
“We’re going to. Don’t worry.” She said as they left the Sanchez’s household and went home.
“Hey, babe?” Mrs. Johnson started off. “Let’s see if we can book a plane ticket to North Korea for tomorrow.”
“Are you sure?” Mr. Johnson asked over the phone.
“Yeah, I hate seeing Chris like this, and Chasity doesn’t deserve the mess they put her through. We gotta find her.” She said.
“Book the plane tickets.” He said.
… And just like that the search was on.
