CHAPTER 16- ME OR HER?

Ryan POV

I sat in my new office thinking about Mel. She was amazing. I wondered what happened last night, I guess I would ask her today when she comes to work.

Just then my Secretary came through the door urgently.

"Sir, sorry to bother you but is Ms. Stubbs being promoted?" she asked confused.

Melanie?

"Umm no. Why?" I asked curious to her random question.

"Because she is packing up her office right now" she stated matter of factually.

That made me jump out of my seat .

I raced across to her office to see her indeed packing up all her stuff in boxes and giving them to a couple men to carry to her car.

"Mel whats this?" I asked when we were alone.

"What does it look like ? I'm quitting!" she mumbled before putting her laptop in a briefcase.

"What? In a year's time I can see you as top manager like Hood" I informed.

"Why would I want that when I'm being given that opportunity now somewhere else?" she asked sternly watching me up and down.

'Do you want that opportunity now?" I asked desperately.

She can't leave.

I will miss her.

Worst yet....I love her.

"You don't get it, do you?" she asked irritably.

"Get what??" I mumbled.

"Your getting married tomorrow. Hell in a few hours and you want me to do what? Stay? You clearly picked and it wasn't me. It makes no sense to stay after all we have been through" she screamed whispered.

I sighed.

I knew this was coming.

I knew she was angry.

I knew she pretended that it didn't bother her.

"Mel don't make that an issue" I whispered.

I didn't want to choose.

I did love Mel more than Sally by far but I couldn't leave her now after seven long years.

"Don't make that an issue? So what the fuck are me and Melissa are suppose to do when Sally gets pregnant and you start to have kids?" she begun to scream.

I couldn't answer.

She was right.

I couldn't have them both.

"Look Mel, I'm sorry" I whispered.

"I know you are. I got to go" she muttered before picking up the last box on her desk.

That was it.

I Ryan Matthew Carter finally picked.

Sigh.

Emily POV

"Shana is everything packed for Melissa?" I asked Her. I was currently helping them pack their stuff in boxes.

They were moving back to Australia with me.

Yes.

I was taking Melanie and my unborn grandchild to Australia to live with me.

And well her sister to.

Last night Melanie called me and asked me what to do and I immediately thought of this.

I mean Mel was so much nicer and sweeter than Sally.

Definitely a keeper.

I called one of my girlfriends who owned a firm and needed a manager and well she gave her the job right away.

Of course she wanted to move to Australia before Ryan even realizes. So we all begun to pack last night.

She would sell her house and move into one of my four houses.

I promised her I wouldn't tell Ryan a thing and I wouldn't. Ryan needed to realize for himself the amazing woman Melanie was and I couldn't help him get there.

I wanted him to realize for himself how much of  a wife Mel was.

We had finished packing and I called a delivery car for the port to send all their stuff all the way to my home in Australia.

They were leaving tonight and would stay their until they are ready to move on.

I didn't have to worry About Ryan and Sally they would be on their honeymoon for two months in Spain and then they would be living in New York.

The probability that Mel and Ryan will ever see each other again is zero.
