Chapter 11

3 years later.

"Ew, he's so hot I wanna die," Hannah pouts, placing the wine bottle to her lips. I brush her hair back from her face as we watch Calum devouring this girl.

"Look, Han, he's an ass okay?"

"We're friends though Jess. Why didn't he tell me? You know what, I'm going to introduce myself." My eyes widen and before I could stop her she taps Calum on the shoulder. My heels drag me down, but I get there quick enough.

"You never told me you were shagging someone Cal!" Hannah exclaims, and I take hold of her wrist, pulling her backwards.

"Hannah, are you okay-" Calum reaches out to help me to keep her balanced and she giggles but then begins to cry.

"Come on Han, let's get out of here okay?" I shot Calum a warning look that if he goes near her I will chop off his balls and feed them to dogs. Once I drag her out I quickly get my phone.

"Babe," I say sweetly, "pick me up from the bar please? Aw, you cutie, thank you."

"Is that Joshyyy?" Hannah smiles, drinking more of her wine. I take it away from her but can't contain my grin. "Yup, it was Joshua."

"You are so hot Jess," Joshua breathes in my ear as I hug him. I have my red dress on, with a slit on the side up to my thigh.

"What can I say, when it's your dad's 40th birthday you gotta get dressed up!"

I link arms with him, "now let's go in and completely, utterly smashed." He smiles, "that's my girl."

I knew it would be awkward. I haven't seen them in two years, and that's a lot of time away from people you used to be inseparable to.

They hadn't changed at all. Michael was at the food table, discreetly eating at the food placed on it. Calum was in the middle of a group of women, presumably chatting him up. Dad was standing there authoritatively and Luke...was sucking the face off his wife. Great.

"Still a dick I see," Joshua says, making me giggle.

"I won't pay attention to him. Neither will you Josh."

"Sure thing. Now come here and lets show him what kind of person you are now." I smile, letting go off his arm and run a hand through my hair. 

"Jessica!" I turn around to see my dad with his arms open. This is it, I think. To show them I'm not that weak girl anymore. With tranquillity, I make my way over to him with Joshua following close behind and give him a hug.

"Hi. This is my boyfriend, Joshua." Joshua politely shakes my dad's hand and I leave them to carry on with their own conversation. I catch the eyes of all of the boys including Luke's. Already I can feel Luke's hungry eyes on me, but I ignore it and go straight for Michael.

"Michael!" I smile, giving him a hug. "You haven't changed at all."

"I would say the same to you but you obviously have- wow Jess, you look so grown up!"

"Thank you, Josh is the culprit for this dress, he earns a tonne of money. I would tell you what he does, but I will actually have to kill you."

Michael laughs, "doesn't sound dangerous at all! Josh huh? What's going on there?" Simultaneously we look over to dad and Josh talking. 

"He helped me get over Lola basically. Better boyfriend then Luke ever was."

"Shots fired." I turn around to see Calum, who does look hot in his casual suit. With a wide smile, I cling onto him in happiness. He even smells like he used to.
