"Before you see you're dearly beloved..." Waverly paused to try and find the right word and looked at Illya with an evil smile on his face, "lover, I think I should explain everything..."
Solo looks at Illya and nodded. Illya stops struggling against them and glares at Waverly. "I want to hear this."
"From the very start, Waverly." Simona chipped in, knowing he must've lied to her when recruiting her for U.N.C.L.E. in the first place.
"Back in Germany I recruited Gaby because I knew she could lead me to the nuclear weapon. It was easy enough to fool the agency into this whole 'end of the world' business." He paused and his pace slowed. "I wanted that disc to myself. I wanted that weapon. But you idiots burnt the disc. I looked everywhere for another weapon, and I sent some of my men to go to East Germany to go through Gaby and her father's old home. I found blueprints for a nuclear weapon, ten times more powerful than the previous one. The only problem was some of the most crucial blueprints were missing. My rebel HQ here, in Istanbul, was growing. I knew the only other person who would give me the details about the rest of the blueprints was Miss Teller. I tried to get her to leak information when I was her friendly commander, but she wouldn't budge. I needed to get her to Istanbul. The agency wouldn't let me bring her alone because she was so inexperienced, so I created U.N.C.L.E. with you lunatics. You were the only ones who could stop me. So I sent you blindly to Istanbul with you, Miss Veranda." He smiled at Simona, danger lurking in his murky eyes. "You were one of the CIA's best. So I took you away from them to join Mr Solo and Mr Kuryakin. I knew your mysterious fashion of working would make at least one of them think you were double-crossing them, and I was right."
Illya looked down guiltily. "Simona, I'm sorry..."
Waverly laughed. "It's a bit late for that. Anyway when you arrived in Istanbul, I realized you were too powerful all protecting each other in a little house. So I sent you to a hotel, making sure your cover would separate you. It worked. All I needed was Gaby and Illya to have a discussion on the balcony about their pitiful failure of a... love so I could have my men abduct her. I thought that would be the end of it, and I would send dozens to finish you off, but she won't utter a word. No matter what I do to her. Fortunately for you, it means you get to live a little longer..."
"What do you mean by that?" Illya angrily whispered, expecting thw worst.
"It means you're going to act as another torture method for Miss Teller to experience."
He opened another iron door. There was Gaby, surrounded by two guards with even bigger snipers than the ones being held behind them. "Miss Teller, it must be nice for you to see your comrades again." He laughed and the horrible sound of evil echoed around the room, piercing the spies' ears.
