"Mama! Mama!" The nightmare was coming back. The trauma of my family and town's loss came back to me in bloody shreds and screams of horror. I sat up in the furniture, gasping and sobbing with my tears staining on my pale face.

The screams, the shouts, the cries! It all rang in my horror-stricken ears. They wouldn't go away! I held my head and tried to clear the terrifying memory of the nightmare. But it's strange. It's been twelve minutes ever since I've woken up, but still the cacophony remains in my ears. Was it that harsh?

It took me a while to realize the terrifying reality that was happening right now. The cries, the screams, the shouts....they weren't from my dreams... They came from outside the door. I stumbled out of the furniture and felt my surroundings to the door, feeling an immense heat spreading in the outdoor air before me.

Flames crackled near my feet and the humid air was terrible. When I tried to exit the home, two strong arms grasped me back inside. A voice growled lowly, "Don't go out there. It's far too perilous." I struggled and replied, "What's happening?"

The teen sat down in a chair and groaned, "We're being attacked. A man with a white eye came asking for you. But we refused, well, more of lied that we had no clue where you were at all. He flew into a rage and burned multiple houses...and killed thirty-five people. All at once."

I gasped and covered my face with my trembling hands. "That man..." I whispered, "He killed my town and family." I heard Wister jump from his seat, "You don't mean...he's the one who..." I nodded. This couldn't be happening... My nightmare is becoming a reality...

I could sense the concern and confusion in Wister's voice as he spoke, "The others are in the basement, safe for now. I'll take you there." I was just as worried. I sighed and locked my hands together. Suddenly, I felt my blood run cold, despite the humid outdoor atmosphere. Something was behind me, something that I feared for so long....something...

I shivered, and it wasn't long until Wister hoisted me on his back and sprinted into the basement. The basement felt damp and had a terrible odor of rotten eggs... I heard Gina's croaky voice first when we entered.

"It's happening!! The crooked old Dismus is coming to kill us all!" I listened closely as Wister placed me down on the tiled floor. Edgar's voice was shaking as he asked, "Dismus? Who in all the h*lls is that?" Gina replied quietly, "Aye, the horrible apprentice of Derise. All of you sit and listen closely. I will tell you the long told tale of Dismus Sinbarch."
