My match was a douche in disguise and I had fallen for his nice guy facade like a clown. He appeared to be a gentleman but he was anything except that. He was a nightmare in a Greek Adonis body. Apparently, it was a great idea to kidnap me from my own home and keep me at his beach hut - well, a beach mansion.

He didn't explain anything to me. Not a thing.

One minute, Jack is in the kitchen making us some lunch, the next thing I know, I'm on my way to his Highness' beach house, with a grouchy stranger as company. I was just thrown into the passenger seat and the car took off, leaving my match behind and my unsuspecting brother.
Lucas didn't even have the decency to stay with me; instead he gave me a stranger as a babysitter and claimed he was 'my new bodyguard'.

The man was muscly, bald headed and highly intimidating. His beady eyes seemed to peer into my soul and his battle scars added to his aura of mystery and danger. His crooked nose indicated to a past injury and I definitely wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him. I didn't feel safe in his company but I realised that he would protect me at all costs because of his strict orders from Lucas.

That didn't mean that I felt secure with him. In fact, I felt the opposite.

He was concentrated on the road, black shades on and a gun in his pocket. His postured was seemingly relaxed but the constant movement of his eyes showed that he was alert and ready for action.

"May I please know where we are going?" I asked the mountain beside me.

"We're going to the Prince's beach house." His voice was gruff, strong and emotionless. He was a stoic man but an unknown determination swept through me to figure out who this man was.

"I'm Bailey Adams. What's your name?" My voice came out strong, not a waver or a stutter and I gave myself a mental pat on the back.

"You don't need to know." He was clearly a man of few words but I was not giving up.

"But I do. I refuse to be left with a stranger to protect me. So, what's your name?" He appeared to be shocked at my persistent attitude towards something as small as his name but then a small grin appeared on his face.

Names hold a level of power.

"Kevin, at your service." I smiled at him.

At least we were making progress.

For the rest of the journey, there was no sound between us except the constant growl of the engine. I kept my head on the window, letting the cool glass soothe my warm skin. Eventually, we reached our destination. The sun shone on my back as I made my way down to the beach. The soft sand felt like icing sugar under my toes, as if the whole beach had been put through a sieve. The calm ocean beckoned me in and I happily obeyed, the waves lapping over my feet, the salty air filled my lungs and if I shut my eyes, for a split second I felt like I was on a tropical island, far away from civilisation and all of my problems.

Free.

I turned around after I had basked in the sun for a bit and headed back the way I had come. Kevin was waiting for me by the entrance of the house. Upon entering, I was greeted with an open space living room, kitchen and dining area. The polished wooden floors matched the wood on the oak dining table and the oak on the small coffee table in the seating area. The sofas were a lovely space grey, matching the walls of the downstairs room. One of the walls was filled with glass, a wall of windows with a large glass door at the end so I could enter and exit the beach as and when I pleased.

The black marble of the kitchen island matched the fabric on the dining chairs around the oak table. The cabinets in the kitchen were cream with silver handles, the cushions on the plush seats were cream and so were the eight place mats on the dining table. I fell in love with the layout and the beach house without even looking at the upstairs levels.
