We have five minutes. Ready? No? Good.

I'm in front of 221B Baker Street, facing a dilemma: To meet Mr. William Sherlock Holmes, the brilliant consulting detective not yet known to the world, or to leave him be. If I left him in his cozy little flat with his cozy little partner in crime, three things would happen:

Over the next few weeks, he'd have to deal with quite the threat on his own: Mr. James Moriarty. I wouldn't be there to help him.

After that ordeal, you have Mr. Charles Augustus Magnussen-- quite the gentleman, really. He's had his eye on our little detective for a while now.

And finally, he'd meet my ex-boss. I won't go into that wanker, he's too much for me even now. In fact, I believe he's the reason I'm here... Moving on.

And what would happen if I knocked on that door?

Well, all those things would still happen; however, those two would have much more insight on what's coming to them. I'd also get to meet my dear William again, have him do me a few favors.

Now, wouldn't that be nice?

Clock's ticking, ready to make a decision?

I'm not, no, not yet. People hate that about me. They think it hurts too much, especially when it comes to my line of work.

We'll talk about that later.

Now I'm 3 steps away from that door, thinking about my own benefits: really, if I left them alone, I could handle my situation on my own, but if I sought Will's help, I'd have refuge for at least 7 years. That's more than enough time to think about what I should be doing, and 2 heads are better than one, no?

Things are looking up, for both me and Will.

2 steps away.

1 step.

Are you ready?

I'm not.

That's the first time ever in ages.

I guess that's a good thing...

I wonder how he is?

From the casual observer, one might see a lovestruck lady, or perhaps a calculating psychopath as Simone Poole raised a single gloved hand to the door. Only the sharpest would know that she was both.
