It all came together when the temperature was at its coldest and the wind nipped at her rosy nose. She folded in on herself like origami as she walked, made her self as small as she felt. Her ears still stung from her boyfriend's harsh words (no one will ever love you), her bottom lip tasted metallic and not just because she had bit down on it earlier.

Headlights destroyed her shadow, caused her to squint and roll her eyes at the hunk of metal coming towards her. It sputtered and jolted when it stopped, the angry rock music playing inside turning into a dull whisper. The girl, Lydia, the words 'I'm fine, go away Stilinski' lying on the tip of her tongue.
