I waved at Kelly but he didn't wave back. He was obviously trying to get Lonnie's attention but she wasn't paying any. Kelly is my best friend, and I really hope Lonnie takes him back cause he's been down in the dumps lately. At the same time I don't want her to take him back cause I can't deny the fact that I'm close to being in love with him. Ever since we first met I liked him and when I got to know him better, I really fell for him. It hurts to see him running after Lonnie and not paying me any mind. Since he's my best friend I just want him to be happy so if Lonnie is what'll do that then I'll have to deal with it.
It hurts to know that Kelly probably doesn't have real feelings for me. At one time He might've but that feeling probably left him a long time ago...
Lonnie is a great person but every time I see her with Kelly I feel an ache in my heart because I've gotten to know Kelly very well and fall in love with everything about him....
I'm surprised that Kelly hadn't picked up on the fact that I'm somewhat jealous of Lonnie. I try hiding it every time I'm talking to her but it tends to show.
(Kelly and Lonnie have known each other for about 2 months now)
Kelly's POV
I unlocked the door and walked in. "Hey Kay", I said to my sister who was sitting at the kitchen table.

"Hey Kel", she said looking up. Kayla is only a year younger than me but I treat her like she's five, I'll admit but it's only cause she's my sister and I love her to the moon and back. "What you lookin at?" I said standing behind her chair and leaning forward peeping all in her phone. "Move boy!" She said pushing my head back. I giggled and hit her shoulder. "Damn you get on my nerves Kelly", she said laughing. I heard a knock on the door and I looked through the peephole. I opened the wood door and left the screen door closed and locked. "You know who this is?" I asked looking at some boy in the door.
"Oh yeah, let him in", she said. "Nah. This yo Lil boyfriend?" I asked. "Yes!" She said coming to the door. "He can't come in", I said slamming the door closed. "Kelly stop playing!" She yelled hitting my arm. "I ain't playing better go outside and talk to his ass", I said. "No", she said. "Well you ain't gone see him then", I said. "Fine", she said opening the door.
"I gotta come too", I said following behind. "You petty as hell", she said to me. I stepped out and walked to the guy. "What's yo name?" I asked scaring him a little. "Khalil", he said nervously. "I'm Kelly, her big brother", I said grinding my teeth. "I gotta lay some rules down for you", I said. "You can't come in the house. You can't go anywhere with her without my permission. You can't be alone with her unless I say so, and You can't talk to her on her cellphone, you gotta call the house phone", I said.
He sighed. I turned towards Kayla as she rolled her eyes. "Khalil just go home", she said mad at me. Khalil walked off and I sat on the car. "Why do you have to do this?" She asked. "Cause I'm yo big brother and ion want niggas doing you wrong and I love you", I said. "I love you too but I'm 16 Kelly, it's not like I'm ten. You're only 17, one year older than me!" She yelled. "I can't help it", I said wrapping my arm around her shoulder. I gave her a family kiss on her forehead.
We sat on the car as Kalani walked up the sidewalk into the driveway. "Hey Lonnie", I said jumping off the car.
Lonnie's POV
"Hey Kelly", I said sighing. Kelly stood in front of me with an anxious smile. I looked in his eyes and saw how much he favored me. My heart started to get heavy as I realized how I got his hopes up. "...I'm, I'm just here to, um, give you your book. You left it in my locker before this break we're on..." I said feeling bad. His smile faded and he sighed. "Kalani", Kelly said. Whenever he said my real name I knew he was serious and was about to speak from his heart.
Kelly's POV
"Kalani, can't you see that I'm sorry?" I asked as I felt my eyes water. Hell nah ian finna be looking like a pussy in front of my sister and Lonnie. "I can see it doesn't hurt you as much as it hurts me. This month without you has been so horrible. Things have been falling apart. My grades aren't as good as they were before... I haven't been playing as good as I usually do... and I've been having a bad ass attitude. You can even ask my sister", I said pointing back at her.
"Yes! I need you to take him back cause he won't let my boyfriend come in the house or nothin!" Kayla exclaimed. "Kelly, all I can say is that I'll stop ignoring you and being rude but we still gotta be friends for now", Lonnie said. After constantly wiping my eyes dry, I let a small tear stream down my cheek. "Oh my god no, please don't cry Kelly", she said wiping my tear and holding my face in her hands. "Kelly please don't cry... you're killing me", she said trying not to look at my watery eyes.
"I-I can't. I've never cried over a girl Kalani", I said trying to hold back my emotions. "Can I come in?" She asked. I nodded my head and walked her inside.
"Kelly, I'm really sorry. I'll stay here with you. We can play video games or something. Whatever will make you feel better", Lonnie said trying to cheer me up. "Can we play 2k", I asked with my lip poked out.
"Yea come on", Lonnie said turning the PlayStation on.
