The constant sound of beeping wakes me. My eyelids are too heavy to raise so I try to speak but no words come out. I hear soft voices but I can't make out the words. My fingers twitch as I try to move them. Slowly, I regain control of my body and my eyes pop open.

The voices I heard are coming from the TV which hangs an the wall of an unfamiliar room. I look at my body laying across the bed and find an IV in my arm along with a thing around my finger. It's then that I realize where I am - the hospital. I have to get out of here.

I swing my feet over the bed and carefully stand up. As I begin walking, I feel a tug at my skin and remember the wires attached to me. I pull them out and whimper in pain. A different beeping sound fills the room, louder this time, and a nurse bursts through the door. "What ate you doing up? You about gave me a heart attack."

"Good thing we're in the hospital," I croak.

She frowns. "Let's get you back into bed."

I shake my head. "No. I'm going home."

"No you're not," she says sternly. "You need help, Madison."

I sigh. "Can I at least use the bathroom?"

"Of course."

I go into bathroom and come to a halt when I see my reflection in the mirror. My body is pale, only a hospital gown covering it. The makeup that was once on my face is now washed away. I can hardly recognize the sick girl I see in the mirror.

After using the bathroom and washing my hands and face, I quickly brush my fingers through my hair to try to tame it. Although it still looks bad, it looks better than it did when I came in here. The nurse is still in the room and she gives me a stern look. "Now get in bed so we can get the IV hooked back up."

I shake my head. "I won't be here for much longer. Where are my belongings?"

She nods towards the window where there is a table and chairs. My clothes and other belongings are there, only I'm confused as to where the clothes came from. They're not the ones I remember wearing. "What happened?" I whisper to myself, trying to remember the previous night.

"Alcohol poisoning. You should be thankful that your friend was smart enough to get help," the nurse answers.

I stand there in shock until I hear the door open. Glancing over my shoulder I see Isabelle and my dad. "Oh my gosh!" Isabelle gasps. "Why didn't anyone tell us she was awake?"

Turning towards the two, I see them staring at me with worried eyes. "I'm fine. Just go home. I'm getting out of here."

My dad frowns. "Madison, you need help. Let them help you."

"I don't need help," I snap. "It was a small accident. I have a photo shoot to get to so excuse me."

Grabbing my clothes, I head for the bathroom but my father places his hand against it. "Mason said you didn't have one today."

"Of course I do. It's Thursday."

Isabelle places her hand on my back and gently rubs it. "It's Friday, sweetheart. You were in a coma."

Confusion clouds my head and I find myself growing more irritated with each passing second. "I don't give a flying fuck what day it is. I'm leaving this place either way."

Removing his hand from the bathroom door, I go in and lock it behind me. Leaning against the door, I close my eyes as my head clouds with confusion. A tear slips down my cheek but I quickly wipe it away before composing myself. After quickly changing into my clothes, I go back into the room to find everybody waiting around the room - my dad, Isabelle, Jordan, Leila, Robert, Addison and Alex. Shaking my head I go to the table and grab my phone. "Madison, we all think it's best if you come home for a while and take a break from work. You're living an unhealthy life," Jordan says.

"We can do fun things together like go to the beach or a park," Leila suggests.

"You guys could help me with the baby's room," Isabelle says.

"What is this, a fucking intervention?" I snap. "I'm fine. Now drop it."

Robert clears his throat. "Madison, I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have let you drink that much."

"It's not your fault," I say softly, staring down at my phone.

"Look, I really want to stay but I've already delayed my flight," he continues. "I was supposed to be back at work today but I couldn't leave without making sure you were okay. I'll call you, okay?"

Turning, I nod. He gives me a hug and I hold on a bit longer than I should. I've missed him. After placing a small kiss to the corner of my lips, he leaves the room. Taking a deep breath, I call Mason but he doesn't answer. My hair falls in my face and I push it away, irritated. "Does anyone have a hair tie?"

"I do," Addison speaks, taking one off her wrist.

I completely forgot she was here during my raging bitch moment. After giving her an apologetic smile, I take it. "Thank you, Addison."

"No problem. I can braid it if you want."

"That'd be nice," I nod.

I sit on the bed and give it back to her so she can begin. My family stares at me and I can feel Alex's eyes from behind me. "Since you're obviously set on leaving, I'll go get the paperwork," my dad says softly.

Isabelle goes with him and after a moment my siblings go as well, leaving me with Alex and Addison. Alex walks around the hospital bed and sits on one of the chairs in front of me. "I shouldn't have let you go," he says softly, leaning his elbows on his knees. "If I would've fixed things between us, none of this would've happened."

"You don't know that," I say softly. "Don't blame yourself. I am responsible for what happened. No one else."

He stares up at me for a long moment before holding out his hand. I place my hand in his and he presses a kiss to it before leaning his forehead against it for a short moment. "Take care, Madison."

I feel the braid against my back as Addison announces she's done. "Finished."

Releasing my hand, Alex stands and begins heading for the door as I stare at him in shock. Is this really it? He's saying goodbye? "Come on, Addison."

"But Uncle Alex, this is my last chance to see her before I go home," Addison whines.

She's leaving? Of course. It's already Friday and she has school Monday. "Let's go," he says sternly.

She frowns before turning to me and giving me a hug. "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too," I say, hugging her tightly. "Get my phone number from your uncle and you can text me whenever, okay?"

She nods before pulling away. I watch as they leave the room and once again I am alone.

What have I done?
